I bought a bandsaw for my daughter for Christmas. They weren’t sure they had the space but now realise it is one of the most versatile pieces of kit you can have. It wasn’t this make but one that is highly rated by Axminster. I have an Axminster own brand big machine, three phase, and changing the band is quite a struggle when handling the 1 1/4” blades. It has been fault free for fifteen years. I recently bought the UJK Bandsaw Buddy. Very expensive for what it is but it does help eliminate runoff when fitting a new band. Judging by the comments you seem to have chosen wisely. Enjoy.

Hi Sue, enjoyed your video, you must have done it quite early in the morning as the birds were quite vocal (nice to listen to). Hope you are getting on well with your bandsaw. I have a Charnwood B350 which I am very happy with.

The Record Powers are decent bandsaws, I used to have a BS 400, you made a good choice.

Record Power are a great company. I have a mortising machine of theirs and in our move to Spain it got damaged. I was able to explain by email what I needed and they sent the parts out, no problem.

Put some beeswax on your new table. It helps the wood glide through the blade.

It is solid and substantial! I haven't owned or used anything by Charnwood so I couldn't comment or compare.

Hey Sue, can you show some details of the bench grinder tool rest, that looks really good?

Hi Sue, love the video, I watched this and your video on your dust collection. One question if you don't mind, what made you decide on the 350, I'm looking into ugrading my small cheap bandsaw, and was looking into the 300 (12" version) yes the throat is slightly smaller but the depth of cut is barley different and I was just wondering why you chose this one. Thanks.

Having spent this morning assembling the same machine, may I ask two questions please? First, your fence carrier looks like mine, like a length of tube with a section cut out to clear the support arms / bolts of the fence bar - does that differ greatly from the illustration in the instruction manual? Secondly, the perforated disc in the centre of the table; does your blade run centrally within that or does it touch on one side?
@SueRhodes7 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes, my fence attachment is different to that in the manual. I think Record Power have updated the design but not the manual. We figured it out without it. Hope you have managed it too. And the blade runs centrally within the bottom guide, and slightly to the left of the slot in the perforated disc. It's like the slot is extra wide on the right hand side. I'm not sure if it's designed to be this way but it hasn't caused any issue when in use.

Yes thanks. One kind and patient chap gave me pages and pages of suggestions and (typically) the last one nailed it. Should anyone else need the same answer, it was a case of slackening the bolts that hold the table to the truncion and using some of its play to shunt it round a bit.

Something is wrong with your band saw, it makes a strange noise. I think something inside is touching the blade.

I am hoping you tie back your lovely hair before you start using the bandsaw. A bandsaw is very unforgiving and it matters little to it what it cuts. A&E are very busy, I think the current waiting time at my local Hospital is about 4 hours, on average. Your choice on this particular bandsaw means you are an intelligent woman, Take care. Have a look at the official setting up by Record Powers highly experienced man. I followed his instructions to the letter and I can cut a piece of wood to the maximum depth of the saw 2mm thick with the rollers extended outwards completely away from the bandsaw blade I can almost see through it. Best test there is for man/woman & machine. I repete, take care. Harry, had a Sabre 350 a couple of years almost.
