Without even taking into account the astronomically high price of the “Moonbreon”, this set currently has 10 cards worth over $100 each. Most modern sets don’t even have 2 cards worth over $100. As long as the value of the chase cards remains high, Evolving Skies sealed products will just continue to rise in value. Not to mention that some people have the funds to open boxes just to chase certain cards, thereby reducing the sealed population. It’s inevitable!

@ you’re comparing apples to oranges. Yes, Prismatic Evolutions will be great, but there are no booster boxes and pull rates will not be comparable to the Sword & Shield era. VMAX alt arts are much harder to pull than any special illustration rare in the S&V era, and it’s not even close. If you must compare these sets, the only advantage Prismatic Evolutions has over ES are reverse master balls. Since you mentioned ES is 4 years old, what do you think is going to happen to ES thanks to Prismatic Evolutions? More hype, more demand, prices will continue to rise (not that it needed it). @@Eduardo_Omnislash agreed bro. The newest sets are pushing people towards older sets. Even Fusion Strike and Crown Zenith are trending upwards now and they were abundant. Evolving had too high of demand to stay sealed. I opened at least 10 packs myself. I’m thinking 151 is underrated at this point…. It’s a known in demand item that is low supply and no ETBs being reprinted that we know of… perfect storm can’t miss 151 even at these prices

When Crown Zenith stock eventually disappears, prices will go bonkers. 151 is one for the ages, for sure (I completed that master set in December 2023 when prices were still reasonable). Similar trends can be currently seen in Magic the Gathering (except vintage). Cheers!

@@Eduardo_Omnislash Nobody knows if they will copy the OCG, they didn't do it last time (so no master ball reverse). Prismatic will definitely hurt well within 4 months with the rate its going (151 never shot up in it's earlier month release, it took 1 year) and it's not even released. Depending on pulls (data and individual luck), there are more high profile cards than 151, but due to the sets being a holiday/special set, it's likely to be similar but with almost 18 cards to chase and only special boxes with 3-12 packs per box. Moonbreon believe it or not was a sub par $80 card, it took almost a single week-month to get it around $165, 4 years later it's now over $1000+

The crazy thing is evolving. Skies was one of the real reasons why I got back into pokémon. Now the booster boxes are going for $1,000. It's insane. I originally bought my first ever evolving size booster box at $150. Now I can't even afford to open up another one 😭

i'm so with you, lately i wanted to get my hands on surging sparks, prior release i could have had some boxes at less than msrp before the set craze caught the pre-orders.... did not have the cashflow back then and now, neither do i want to invest in this set as its already gone too high and not stopping, so another missed opportunity for me, but hey we cant always predict the future. got the new moonbreon yesterday from terastal festival in japanese so i'm content with that!

I very much doubt it is becoming more popular. The Pokémon company is making bank off of scarcity and resellers. But the cost has been driven up so much that young new fans are priced out. In 20 years I suspect they will have a big issue with sales and the price of all resold cards will go down.

Still more growth to follow for these boxes especially as the supply decreases. Moonbreon is a super chase for the ages. The low hit rates surprisingly makes EV skies even more expensive

It was all loose packs!😂 But I asked for my money back because I decided to cancel the order before it was supposed to be shipped and they gave me my money back and still accidentally shipped it to me but it was all loose packs!😂
