As a future Winter Gargen homeowner, we would love to see a homeowners insurance video on newer construction homes. We'll be moving from out of state, insurance costs is our #1 concern, especially with Citizens cancelling 200k policies. Great vids Jared!

@@ryanbailey-crandell4984 Thanks for the tip! I'm really just trying to figure out Orlando home insurance costs on new construction vs. a home that is a few years old.

I did a quote with Kin insurance for a Waterleigh house 2018 for $2,100 a year. It will increase over time for sure but at least it’s not $5000 a year

@rooster.. best way to find out - have an insurance broker give you a quote for a new one and a resale in the same category of price for the area you are shopping. Email me at info@jaredjones.com and would be happy to make the introduction to a good one to perform this exercise for you.

Enjoyed the three years I spent in waterleigh. One of the first “big” developments off 429. The only regret, buying a DR Horton home. Made some nice money once I sold. The area has an insane amount of building going on.

There was a house in sale in my community and sold in a heart beat by a few buyers bitting against each other. The volume is still very high in Orlando.

Lack of insurance is the fault of the governor of Florida.

The problem with our insurance preceded DeSantis and the laws he passed in 2022 are turning it around. Just the facts.

@jaredjonesorlandoliving Jared, I love your work, but on the topic of homeowners insurance, I have to disagree. In fact, the insurance companies have always been winning, and they are still winning... 3 out 4 insurance claims were denied this hurricane season(that was just reported on the news!) because of the regulations and law changes the govn supported to make the insurance companies stronger in court in recent years-i believe he felt sorry for them because he claimed that we the people, the victims of the damages cause by the storms, were causing massive abuse of insurance...the insurance companies never like paying claims now at all, and they act like they did not know Florida had hurricanes when they were collecting all of the premiums. Some of them just did not pay at all, leaving homeowner in the dark to fit the legal bills to go after them even when they have nothing left.. So he changed the rules in court to favor the insurance companies in an attempt to balance things out but this did not work at all, it made things even worst for the people of florida. Now insurance is coming back into the state because they know they will not have to pay any claims. You have to admit the irony here. I think the govn is a great person on a personal level, but come on, no matter how much I support someone, I have to admit that was a major mistake. That is also the facts. The housing market is not selling because homes that are free and clear in the wealthier cities can't sell to realize a livable profit to buy houses in the slower parts of Florida where prices shouldnt be as high as they are now, making room for growth. And now that the out of staters are no longer coming this cycle, ultimately because of these rule changes, the market is locked up. There may be another crash...not sure if it's because the insurance industry wants to get into the housing industry or what. But you are right about one thing it has been happening way before, but it is still painting this picture in my mind. Thx for the reply Jared.

@simplebeautiful7923 Until they leave the state. Then Florida homeowners are screwed. You can't force a business to do business. It's not illegal to just leave. Governors hands tied.
@simplebeautiful79237 күн бұрын
@sennaha Nah, it isn't illegal to just leave. Im just saying they are leaving when they have to pay claims, and the homeowner are left hanging. The money does not lie. check out who founded the govnr reelection... go see for yourself. I was shocked.

The interest rates don't matter much, I am more concerned about the homes being so overpriced and overvalued. As long as these prices stay up there I will never buy a house in the US.
