Recording emerges of speaker comparing Israeli policy to Nazism at Corbyn hosted meeting

Jeremy Corbyn has issued an apology over any "concerns and anxiety" he caused by appearing on platforms with people whose views he "did not accept or condone" - after it emerged that he had hosted a meeting in 2010 where a speaker compared Israeli policy to the Nazis.

Critics have dismissed Mr Corbyn's apology as "utterly hollow" - while the row has increased the pressure on Labour to take a tougher stand on anti-Semitism. I don't understand why we're allowed to criticise the policies of any country in the world, but as soon as we say something about Israel we're anti-semitic. I'm absolutely not anti-semitic (my father was a jew), but I have a big issue with Israel policies regarding the Palestinians and I happen to agree with the comparison. I think that after more than 70 years we can get over our collective European guilt over WWII. What is happening in Israel and Palestine is appalling and the fact that millions of jews were killed in the most atrocious way during WWII doesn't change the atrocities that Israel is committing now.

It's completely ridiculous how this was even a scandal. If this event was directed at a different oppressive state such as North Korea or Iran, no one would have ever had to apologise for that kind of statement. But because Israel has huge support inside the elite in the UK, as the number of Jewish people within all elite intuition in the West, is very high even though jews only make up a small minority overall (This is not anti-Semitism, this is FACT), because of this, politicians are strangled by pressure to appease them and there is an outcry demanding apologises whenever they're caught being critical of the Jewish state. To the point where an MP has to apologise just for being at an event where somebody else was critical of the state, a state that is in the news almost monthly for abusing human rights btw. I believe the bigger scandal and what history will see as the bigger scandal, has been the Wests failure to hold Israel accountable for the past four decades, during its countless abuses against ethnic Arabs. Even though Labour are also to blame for this, it is the Conservative party who are notorious for stepping up the support and sales of arms to Israel, where British arms exports to Israel reached record level just last May. It is clear that the conservatives and some folks in the Labour party have a very different motive than simply being against anti-Semitism. Anti Antisemitism is just a front to create a stigma towards those, mainly politicians, who criticise Israel. There is no other relationship in the world that compares to the one between Israel and the West. The Jewish state is incredibly tangled in with western governments and Jewish supporters of Israel make up a large chunk of the pioneers within their societies(again, not anti-Semitism, it is a fact). Where only speaking from the Government standpoint, the US sends Israel (which is a first world country) billions in military "AID" every year. In return Israel helps the West out by being a station for middle east attacks, like in the Iraq and Islamic state wars. Their intelligent agencies have been known to work together on operations in Iran. Also as I previously mentioned, the UK and US sell billions of dollars worth in detrimental weaponry to Israel. It is clear this is the real reason behind why we have an over the top "scandal" right now, demeaning real and rightful criticism of Israel. It is solely dirty politics, and nothing to do with actually protecting an ethnic/ religious minorityy from discrimination.

As bad as the Nazi's are, they also built and implemented a lot of good things in Germany, like the autobahn, medical checks for prostitutes and so on. So Israel could be compared to the Nazi's, but only if you take into account Israel's use of irrigation to increase domestic agriculture and the multitude of other things Israel has done to economise and improve itself. The only thing I object to is the comparison of Nazi oppression against the Jew's and other minorities to Israel's treatment of Palestinians. An apt comparison would be the treatment of resistance fighters by the Nazi's. Palestinians are not being rounded up, denied rights or living under subjugation. The Jew's in Nazi Germany didn't have assault rifles and car bombs and didn't throw rocks at the police and the Army. As a side note, I have no problem with people saying Jew's invaded Palestine.
