Great vid, what about tips for adding reverb? The Reaverb takes away the clarity, I would be curious to know your tips. Also how to apply effects to certain sections of a vocal track (mainly the end) and what are your favorite vocal track effects?

Kenny, could you do a video on how to record R&B vocals over an instrumental? You are a thorough teacher with so much value....

If you add fx (eq, compressor) directly to the track, does it mean those fx will be printed on the vocal track. I want to hear the fx during recording but I don't want anything print on the vocal track to later edit. Can I do that? BTW, thank you so much for your videos, I learned so much about Reaper from you.
@alecpitts68432 жыл бұрын
no, none of the FX will imprint on the track. the only thing that will record is the raw audio

I’m not hearing any fx when recording. The only ones I can hear are the input fx which I don’t want printing to the track. What am I missing

I noticed clicks while the vocalist was singing. How do you get rid of those?

Ok, I've been watching this series with interest. One minute your saying use the compressor BEFORE the equaliser, now your saying the reverse. Could you please clarify?
@yeguanting76294 жыл бұрын
I think it doesn't matter :)It's like personal preference.

He used EQ before and after. At about 4:40 he talks about cleaning up the low end before hitting the compressor. After the compressor, he adds shelving EQ to the high end to "make it pretty."

Is the vocalist not in the same room? Any tips for separation with the vocalist in the room with the band? My case being the vocalist is also the guitarist.
