Great video Vatche. I can't think of any other mini-mixer that offers that facility onboard. This, as you say would be a massive help to someone starting out doing Podcasts or gaming videos as it negates the need for an outboard compressor. It looks like Soundcraft did a good job when they updated the drivers. Give it a couple of years and this will be a feature on all mini mixers and 1 & 2 channel audio interfaces.

Thanks for this video. Are those great feautures in the drivers of the Notepad 5 MIxer? Or only in the sound interface drivers? Im thinking on buying a soundcraft mixer.

Because the features are for usb audio, they only affect on your computer.

One question, can I put an effect on my voice in a DAW and then have that sound through the XLR output? Or will it just sound dry without any effect?

How do you check if a dynamic microphone can handle the continous 48V phantom power? I have the Shure PGA58.

90% of dynamic microphones will completely ignore the +48 volts and work fine. Best to check with the manufacturer if not sure. PGA58 should be fine. There are no warnings on the Shure specification sheet.

Im having a serious headache with my Soundcraft 8fx.... I have microphone (audiotechnica at2020) connected to channel 1. Connected the mixer with USB to pc and im monitoring the mixer through the Headphone plug. When I use Mix L+R, the problem is loopback. For example, when Im in discord with my friends, they can hear me + every damn audio coming from my PC. When I use Mic input 1+2, the loopback is gone, BUT! My input volume is lower and I just noticed that EQ does not have any effect on the mic input that is sent to PC but yet it still has a effect on my monitoring headphones. ( I can hear bass in my voice but when I record it, windows apparently cant). Im pretty frustrated at the moment and nothing seems to help

@@RecordingStudio9 Yeah I watched them. I think I solved it, im monitoring now through AUX and the looping is gone for now and the EQ works on discord aswell.

I just got Notepad 12FX to do live music streaming with iPhone (w/camera adaptor), trying to mix with audio input and live trumpet, but all I can get to streaming through USB is my mic sound and I tried rest of all inputs for audio (as backing track played by MacBook) with no luck. Otherwise monitor from Notepad sound great on all inputs. As interface for recording onto Logic pro X is great for me, but streaming mix of backing track does not go through. Can you advice me ? I sent email to Soundcraft before the purchase if I can do it, but no answer, so I took a chance but so far no luck. Should I return to get something else ? or you can advice me. It's strange that headphone monitor can mix great but not streaming onto iPhone with USB. Thanks in advance. Otherwise I like sound of Notepad for my ear which doesn't know sound of other interfaces.

Make sure you use a pc and use the driver settings shown in my last video link to select the mix L R, before plugging it to your iPhone.

Turn them off, best and cheapest option. You can try iZotope RX7.

What is the USB for? Hook up to????what?? This mixer can only feed 1+2 or 3+4 into usb. Can not feed ALL inputs.

USB for pc in/out connection. Much like a regular audio interface.
