This is a great video! This is where I feeling some more learning for my recording business. I wonder if these documents could work for in Canada?

Hi Eric! Yes, they could work, though you might consider some changes to governing law and venue, and I would recommend vetting them through local counsel in Canada. Generally speaking, a contract is a contract, but there is nuance from country to country that these documents may not capture.

@RecordingStudioLoser Thanks, I also reached out to see the difference in the Two Packs he has? Like the Pointes Suite and the Recordint Service agreement...I've Spend 4 years building a studio, have my LLC registered...But I'm at a loss of what to do next...So it would be worth it ti me to have them for examples

Looks like it’s been about 3years so those discount codes are expired. I changed the description of the video to say that now

@RecordingStudioLoser :( Dang, this is the only video I've found on KZbin like it. At least thank you for posting this, It's been pretty difficult in finding any information on what should be in a contract between you and the people your recording, what and how to charge, what protections you have between you and the person your recording and holding each other accountable. I had a Producer rip me off out of $700 for a song I recorded he refused to finish, refuse to provide stems and felt robbed...So I hope to start a studio that doesn't do that to people

Hi, does Brendan have a UK counterpart? Would be a great resource for me over here.

I don't at this time, though having worked with a few UK-based companies, contracts remain largely interchangeable from the US to the UK. If you encounter a UK solicitor who would be interested in partnering, please send them my way!
