I like your approach to audio. You have some really interesting components and love that you can enjoy listening to records without needing ridiculously priced turntables. I have my own mix of old and new equipment for record, tape, and CD listening and put together some fun stuff without a crazy budget.

I've had the same SL-DL 1 since 1982. It has been a wonderful deck. I've used the Ortofon 320 cartridge for the past 7-8 years.

I love how you have the same Reel to Reel Akai that I do / Workhorse is an understatement / I have had mine up & working for close to 40 years? I bought mine brand new & am old enough to tell you I bought many prerecorded albums on reel from Columbia house record club. I have over 80 reels of music about half are prerecorded & the other half are ones I recorded myself (mostly live concert broadcasts off the radio back when they did that all of the time) Love the tour - thanks for sharing!

i had an SL-5 linear tracking turntable for several years, but one by one the buttons stopped working. When it wouldn't even power up anymore, I bought a Rega P2 and had an upgraded (AT_VM540ML) cartridge installed...sounds great. I was hoping to use my dad's old SL-B5 instead, but when I plugged it in it didn't turn on either. It had been idle for about 20+ years.

if you want to get rid of that aged tacky or crumbly layer of rubber on your rubber platter give it a wash or a long dip in chlorine give it a good scrub and after that flush it well with plenty of water you now removed the thin offending degraded layer of synth rubber and it's like new again! not environmentally friendly but it works!

Thanks for the great video! I’m deciding between the Douk P4 and the Fosi x4 to connect my Orbit with KRK Rokit studio monitors. Which of these two phono preamps would you choose? The monitors don’t have a volume knob and only have a gain knob at the back. Do you know if either of these preamps can also work as volume controllers? Thanks again for your great videos!

Mmmmm... a Free Design 8-track tape! I met them while they were performing in my high school in the 70's. I have some of their lp's and cd's. They were influential to the group Stereolab. Alas 8 tracks are long gone from my audio world. Too lo-fi!

8 tracks to me always sucked I had them during the 70's they always sounded muddy but they were popular but they always sounded muddy to me the treble was lacking at times so it may not be your system ,nice toys you have I like seeing audio equipment tours it fascinates me love the u-turn especially the tone arm I like it and believe it is a good tone arm and the blue color which is my favorite it looks great ,and like I said your 8-track may not be at fault thats why I have not gotten a 8-track player JRo

Hi, I wanted to ask you something. My friend just bought a vintage JVC AL-A10 turntable that has almost the identical stylus as your Uturn only it doesn't have the audio-technica logo. It is very similar with it. My question is, can you help and give us the information if this stylus is interchangable with the audio-technica ones. Thanks, and greetings from Montemegro, Europe.

I wish Technics still made an automatic linear turntable, but I imagine it would be pretty pricey these days. I just got a TEAC V6030S cassette deck on eBay that is a 3-head dual capstan model made about the same time as your Yamaha, 1995-97. It wasn't cheap but it is in mint condition, and looks and sounds great. That Yamaha was a steal, and I'd use a fine tip black Sharpie to touch up those dings in the face plate.

The Lost Chords was Disney's name for releasing early songs that the scenes were cut from the final version of the movie. The name has since been dropped. Now called The Legacy Collection. Start collecting these. They are full of rare and deleted songs. Start with Mary Poppins The Legacy Collection has songs from the deleted Compass Travel scene sung by The Sherman Brothers who wrote the songs. There is a Cinderella Legacy collection you should get. The Cds come in a mini book that explain why the songs were deleted. Also a Disney collector. I have the country bear album. I hate they are changing it. They are going to ruin it. Remember when they added the bird from Aladdin to the Tiki Room? I am glad they ditched that crap and went back to the original.
