I just received this and excited to try it. Though there is a little bit of wobble in the disc as it turns, which I fear will throw off the 90 degree slightly. Anyway to mend that?

Nice machine, I have it for a few years now. The only problem I have is that the iron cast surface is really not flat at all. It has a big hollow 'bump' in the middle, around 0.5mm deep. Since I work with small object this is annoying to keep things square, any tips on how to make the surface flat? Thanks

What I am missing is the changing of the sanding discs. Taking one off and replacing it with a different grit when using the self adhesive version could be a bit of a pain. I wonder how good the adhesive will be once I have put a sanding disc on and off a few times. What will last longer; the abrasive or the adhesive? The rest of the video was very - positively - informative.

Hi Keith, A lot will depend on your applications, if the job require large sections of timber being taken down say for some stud work then the self adhesive disc is ideal, if your work requires finer grade work, then the quick change disc may better, if you use the self adhesive disc and its been fitted for a long time it may be you need to use a solvent remover with a plastic scraper together they will soon clean the main disc. Because of te run out of te disc i brought it back to te local dealer. I bought a made in Germany Hegner HSM 300 disc sander. Its a very quiet machine with no run out on the disc at all.

Good to know there's no run out with that one, but for the price they are now it certainly has to be perfect. The record disc sander has come down in price in the last few month's, unfortunately can't see the Hegner coming down thought :(.
