ALL my anxiety and panic attacks went away when I changed my diet. MAGNESIUM, RAW ORGANIC SAUERKRAUT and UNFORTIFIED NUTRITIONAL YEAST ... and I had ALL the horrific symptoms when I went through 3 years of Benzo withdrawal... IT ALL ENDED. I had panic attacks for decaded.... since I changed my diet...I have not had a single one since 2015.

Thank you Dr. Witt-Dörring for this great video. I like this format a lot. Now I can give a name to one of the weirdest symptoms I developed in PAWS: monophobia. My wife was getting crazy because I was having a panic attack every time she left the house. It is getting better over time but it is still hard to be alone. Giving a name to things is very important, it calms down. Validation from a doctor is also extremely important for us, who are used to be gaslighted by psychiatrists/psychologists.

A large part of the problem is that once you have felt severe anxiety or panic attacks you then become anxious about feeling anxious and having a panic attack, you self generate your own anxiety by thinking about it all the time and being scared it's coming again, you have to break the cycle of continuously being anxious about feeling anxious.

Yes you said it perfectly. I’m a lot better but that is EXACTLY how I used to feel but couldn’t explain as well as you just did. Our thinking is sooo important as to how our body behaves in my experience. Thankyou for your words 👍😎

@@joannegregory6039 I've always had some anxiety, even as a very small child I can remember sometimes I'd feel "scared" for no reason, I can even remember asking my mother when i was maybe only 6 years old why do i sometimes feel scared for no reason. My anxiety would come and go sometimes it made life uncomfortable but I've always been able to deal with it and lead a normal life. I'm 54 now, and a few months ago my anxiety suddenly started getting really severe, then I had a massive panic attack which I've never had before, I had no idea what was happening and I called an emergency doctor to my house, they took my vitals and said "the reason you feel so bad is because you have critical hypertension" my BP was 200/120, I didn't know that I had hypertension at all, they told me that they needed to get my BP down immediately or we would need to call an ambulance, they gave me sublingual hypertension medication and my BP came down to a safe level and I was put on hypertension meds permanently, but I kept having panic attacks daily, it actually felt like a continuous panic attack for days, i made several trips to the emergency room and doctors only to be told I'm fine and that my BP was a little high because I'm anxious and having a panic attack, this didn't help the panic attacks stop, until I did some research and looking at myself and my thoughts, I eventually figured out that the first panic attack was so horrible scary to me that I couldn't stop thinking about it and being anxious about them happening and pretty much expecting one to happen that I was making them happen, once I fully understood and stopped thinking about them and stopped being scared one was coming they stopped happening, it wasn't like magic just knowing I was making them happen so they stopped immediately it took a while, you have to know it so deeply in your subconscious that it's not something you even question in your mind. Problem anxiety in general is so much about that, being anxious about feeling anxious, anxiety is a normal emotion we all have it only becomes a problem when you are really scared of it and become permanently anxious about being anxious.

I love to hear about the elimination diet as it was immensely helpful for me! Removing inflammatory foods has been an absolute game-changer. It takes commitment, and I did feel worse before I felt better, but I honestly believe it has been the most helpful thing for me in crawling out of the depths of withdrawal. The symptoms that started after discontinuation still exist, but they are much, much more manageable!

Had agoraphobia by age 8. Couldn't let it keep me from leaving the house because that's where I wanted to get away from. But getting out of the house didn't keep me from feeling like my nervous system was up in the rafters wherever I went out in the world. Childhood trauma gave me PTSD, GAD and MDD. Medications gave me some peace. Once I retire it will be my objective to get off of them. But I can't say that I haven't been helped immensely, in spite of the worry I have about withdrawals in the future.

Doctors are quick to diagnose and medicate. I just heard on the news that if a person is addicted to alcohol and the doctor puts them on SSRI'S that can cause increased cravings for alcohol. SSRI and alcohol can be very dangerous.

Hi Doc- I have a quite severe benzo injury. I have almost all symptoms others discuss but I also lost the function of my hands (gripping paralysis) that loosens after about an hour after I wake. I ended up having surgery to release pressure on my ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel but it did not help much. I am beginning to think that these nerves may also have been damaged by the benzo issue. Thoughts? Thanks!

It’s not that tiny. Sorry. You need to speak to more protracted people. We just go away and don’t talk to doctors. And to be honest, after years of this disability, most ppl can’t afford to talk to you. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
@MajICReiki
@MajICReiki Жыл бұрын
True. Those who can afford to get well or even have the mental ability and energy to seek assistance will, doesn't mean all get it, are successfully treatwd or helped, and this is particularly new and nuanced, in the aspect of prolific prescribing and diversity of biology. Also aware that I Haven't seen many Black, Hispanic, Asian people interviewed, I cannot say that is a reflection of who has been able to afford these services, but it very well could be.

Think he means overall, when you look at the big picture. When you consider everyone who ever took the meds, who then go on to get withdrawal, who then go on to get severely protracted (5+ years) - it's probably a small %

So that’s a long time, last year I was on oxazepam 60 mg a day and lorazepam 2,5 mg for the night. After 6 months stopped cold turkey, I was in a very bad shape, lots of anxiety and insomnia. I am now on mirtazapine, and 1/2 tablet zolpidem for the night. I can sleep 5 to 6 hours, and I feel a lot better. I exercise every day, and eat proper healthy foods.

*Cutting out sweetened & salted foods was the #1 thing that helped me to eliminate my chronic anxiety for good* . Many have reported similar success cutting out only sugar/sweeteners. Diet has a _tremendous_ impact on mood and mental health. The kicker: most foods in grocery stores contain added salt or sweeteners, as do nearly all foods in restaurants, because those are precisely the ingredients that give the biggest pleasure boost. Read the ingredients!

Can you answer: Q: How long does withdrawal last from the following? Q: And can it cause the feeling of episodes of physical fear (1-7 days) ever few weeks for the first year, then constant physical fear for 2 years? I tapered 3 meds all at one time over 4 months : -Wellbutrin (took for 12years) -Lexapro (ssris for 30 years) -Lamictal for 10 years) This was how it felt: The feeling of having a gun pointed at you (24/7 for the last 2 years) with intermittent periods (maybe an hour) of feeling as if you’ve been forced to play Russian roulette. It was not worry. In fact I could not think about anything. Doctor , this is really how severe it felt. I never had anxiety before. I slept only 4 hours a night, waking at 4 am daily. After the first year my relationship ended (narcissistic partner). That’s when it became constant. After 3 years I succumbed and went back on psych drugs. I had lost the psych drug weight gain (50 lbs) over the 3 yrs. Now after 1.5 years back on the drugs all the weight has returned. I wish I could be off these drugs but I cannot go through that constant suffering again. Do you think some people just can’t live without them? A: Do psych drugs Suppress: -Motivation? -Sense of humor? -Wanting to form relationships ? -Feeling loving and connected to people? There’s no fear of friendship or loving. I just don’t feel it so I don’t bother with friendship anymore. Q: Also can depression feel like you lost your connection to God? The antidepressants did not help that feeling. I’ve not felt comfortable as me since the depression began. The antidepressants did not help that either. Q: Are antidepressants supposed to give you a feeling of wellbeing? I lost that when I was depressed and the drugs have not helped. I had a concussion before the depression started 40 yrs ago. I went on the drugs 3 yrs later as the feeling of optimism , wellbeing and connection to God never returned and it was diagnosed as depression. Thank you for your videos. It does make me feel defeated though to know that my withdrawal was unsustainable. Q: are you taking any new patients? If so, how to set up an appointment Thank you so much.

I can really relate to this. I was on Klonopin for 35 yrs and after a 4 yr taper I’m still at 5mg of Valium after a crossover and I feel like I’ve lost so much and when you said loss of connection to God, that is a big one for me. I would have stayed on this stuff if I had known the hell facing me. Because of cognitive issues and concern about being ct I had no choice. So at 70 I’ve had 4 yrs of my life stripped away. I don’t need to hear stories of people taking 10 yrs to get better. I don’t have time for that.

I think the best thing to do is NOT go to the doctor trying to figure what percentile you are in. This just causes further anxiety, in my opinion. Every time you go to a doctor or urgent care you find more to worry about.

It's reassuring that you say that people get better, but how do you distinguish between withdrawal/injury symptoms that are likely to improve and PSSD that may not - especially when there are factors that may have aggravated the withdrawal, such as cold-turkey, multiple meds or reinstatement? How long should you wait until you can conclude that it's all PSSD?

You can not take activated charcoal 2 hours before or after meds. It would not be good if medication is long-lasting.
