Rock art and anthropology was one of my areas of study in school. One thing I discovered was if you make a fire at night about 30 to 40 ft away from a cliff face, stand near the fire but between the fire and the cliff face, the light from the fire will cast your shadow long and lean up on the cliff face. You can even move your arms and almost completely mimic the pictographs on the rock face. Ancient people likely traced the shadows and could very easily think they were otherworldly in some form of fashion. It's really a cool thing! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Tracings of a shadow done as you have described would be difficult at best, owing to the large and moving light source. As romantic as this concept sounds I feel such an idea should be investigated. Did you read a paper on this or perhaps guide me to a source of this theory? Thanks Don.

The boys reading the headstone while Jamie is screaming for her life was funny. They didn't even bat an eyelid. Never thought Rory would've been scared of ghosts or aliens. Watching Mike spot the lady up that little obstacle shows how easy you all make crawling look. She shouldn't have been there on her own if she wasn't confident.

Those pictographs and petroglyphs at Sego are amazing (though I went in the daytime to avoid potentially malevolent spirits). They are some of the most striking ones I've seen. I still don't know if those spooky figures are enemies of the ancient people or protectors. Either way, for anyone who loves ancient rock art, Sego is a great spot to check out and not far off I-70. And once again, Mike is just the best for helping people and being a great coach for getting over obstacles.

When I saw the heading of ghost hunting I just ignored it and didn't read the full details because it didn't sound like Trailmater. You have to go out on Wednesday nights occasionally, and have some fun with friends. As long as every one comes home with all their fingers and toes and not too many people get arrested anything goes. After all, we are all adults.
