I had my open hystorectomy 12/20/23 due to the size of my uterus with my fibroids.. not even a full 2 weeks out, and it's a day by day process.. some days I feel alright and some days I'm so tired.

I am currently 3 weeks post surgery. I am sore but I am far better than before. I had a full hysterectomy. Nothing left in. I am thankful that I did it. My last period before this procedure caused me so much pain that I fell to the floor. Honestly, I am grateful not to deal with that one again. Gas x and stool softeners were my life saver

I had a full hysterectomy including ovaries removed 10/12/22 I am 66yrs old I started back having a period on and off December 2021 when to see a OB/GYN and found out that I had 3 fibroids, polyps, thick lining on my uterus, So I just decided to go and have it done. And I am glad that I had it done. I was discharge from the hospital the next day. I did had a little pain when getting out of bed and back in, sitting the same thing and that about almost 2wks. My 6wks follow up was ok and I was heal with my incision. Do you have a problem below your stomach with a little pain when using the toliet? Because I have been having that problem. I am still not allow to lift anything heavy or push anything heavy. I am that you're ok.

As I’m sure you know the spotting happens and is also an indicator (can be) if something is being overdone. I’m so excited for your healing as each week gets better and better 👏🏼👏🏼

October 12, 2022 When I had my full Hesterectmony and removing my ovaries as well, They placed a catheter when I was asleep doing my surgery, After my surgery when I woke up I didn't feel no pain until I tried to get out of bed to use the restroom and back into bed, and the pain really didn't hurt that bad at all and I still had catheter inside of me until they discharged me the next time which was on October 13, 2022. The survey was successfully. But I still had pain the same way when I got home and also sitting and getting up and that lasted for about 2wks and a little spoting and discharge and that even didn't last long. I did had my Cousin he came to help me out for 2mons and 2wks. I went for my 6wks check up and everything was just great my cision was healing great. Now I am doing everything but I am not lifting anything heavy or pushing anything heavy.

Sounds very close to how I felt after my C-section. I found out the tape wasn’t for me. I have a dot above my scar where the tube was. I got so sick they had to get the toxins out. My C-section had the tape. My dot was bandaged. My tape came off too early and caused problems.

Thanks so much for posting this! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

Hi, I hope you are well. If I understood correctly you have chosen the vaginal hysterectomy, can you please explain your choice and the reason why if you don’t mind? I have fibroids and have tried all the treatments and symptom control ranging from the pill to UFE… which unfortunately did not work for me. I am trying to research as much as possible before I meet my new gyno.
@Curlyhairalchemist2 жыл бұрын
Yea sure. The reason I went this route is because fibroids grow back. Knowing that fact, I thought every other treatment after my first surgery in 2015 was going to be a waste of time. Not to mention painful and just more scar tissue. I went this route because I can never grow fibroids again. I cannot tell you how I felt the instant relief waking up from surgery. I didn’t realize how high my pain tolerance had become until now, because I’m loving pain free. Good luck on your journey. Decide what’s best for you and if you do not have a supportive gyno and they keep pushing you away from removing your uterus, just flip out. That’s what I did.
@ginad99352 жыл бұрын
@@Curlyhairalchemist thanks for replying! 🤩As a last resort I was offered a hysterectomy or a UFE. Since the UFE failed, I am ready to go for a hysterectomy, I just need to figure out what method (laparoscopic, vaginal, etc) is best for me. That is what I meant in my question, I was not specific when I asked it. In the previous video you said that the staff did not recommend vaginally or was not going to give you all the info, which is not right… I am meeting a new gyno! I have felt dismissed over the years and I do not want to be treated as such ever again! I understand that fibroids are benign tumors but they have been robbing and sucking the life away from me, my life revolves around fibroids. I am almost 40 and I want to have it as soon as possible so I can enjoy the next phase of my life. I can’t wait for the relief that you are talking about!
@Curlyhairalchemist2 жыл бұрын
@@ginad9935 believe it or not vaginally or through belly button removal does not become your choice once you are in surgery. I wanted it vaginally because it’s less invasive than going through belly button. During surgery they removed it vaginally because my uterus was bigger than what the MRI showed. So I got my wish. I’m now 7 weeks out and feel like myself again.

I ll have a surgery in one months and my partner of 14 y. just left me, because i am not fun anymore being sick and him expecting that he would need to support and help me. I am scared to death how i ll manage or even survive living on my own and not having any reliable friends that could give me a hand. What is most important when you come home.... i can order food from a nearby nursing home and will not have to cook main courses, but am i going to be able to go to the grocery one week post or two, how long i am not going to be able to drive if having laparoscopid one? Please sisters do share some experience if anybody was going through this stuff alone.
