A question for you though, I have the Munson Ranger 8011 in that Ash Settler polishable leather. Is there anything unique you may want to do with that Red Wing if I sent it in? Hey so first of all the production quality in general for a smaller channel is unreal, but if I could offer one small suggestion: While you're going over each pair during the review section, it might be beneficial to cut in some B-roll of just the boots, stuff similar to 24:35 onward, with maybe a focus on each area as it's being discussed (ie, while talking about the storm welt, add in some B-roll showcasing the storm welt in closer detail). Like I said, clearly a ton of effort has gone into producing those videos already, this is just something I feel would help people both learn and appreciate the various aspects as you're going over them.
@WyattDadCobblerCompany Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input! In other videos, we actually talk about the different welts and things that we know customers aren’t familiar with. Sometimes we get so focused on doing a good job that we forget to cover basics. Our newer videos are more focused on training than entertainment. We are trying to find a good balance. It’s been a learning curve for sure for these no technology cobblers. 😬

14:32 cutting the nails to a specific length. How much longer than the heel stack do you want the nail to be to get the perfect clench? I'm sure you don't want it to be too long. Same I assume for the brass ones that go into the waist at the back of the half sole? Or are those just going into the leather outsole?
@WyattDadCobblerCompany9 ай бұрын
You measure from the side of the bases to the inner soles inside the boots. You want less than 1/8” clinch. You learn from experience how to get accurate at it. At first you have to check yourself by pulling the boot up and looking to make sure you got it correctly. The brass nails in the waist clinch in the inner soles on the sides and clinch against the steel shanks in the middle.,

What's the end difference when using cork paste vs premade cork for the midsole?
@WyattDadCobblerCompany Жыл бұрын
