A lot of you have asked for Rachael to try and recreate some old Sorry Girls DIYs, so she took on the challenge of recreating some of the most iconic ones in the stash. Mason jars, copper piping and neon signs used to be ALL the rage, so Rach tried modernizing them up a bit and putting her own twist to these DIYs.

Lol, I remember all of these! I started watching TSG when I was going through my cancer treatments in 2012! BECAUSE, I was helping my daughter find Halloween costume ideas & TSG popped up when I searched 😊 And I got hooked lol. I Still have their patches on my jean jacket 😂 Just realized when I saw this episode that I've been watching for TEN years 😯. I dont usually comment but thought I should after so long. The copper handles look great, but I would recommend coating them in a clear protective laquer or something similar. Some kinds of copper patina can be toxic and you probably don't want that on your hands!

that glass breaking using hot and cold water works very well. even when you're not prepared for it. do not do this with a glass baking pan that you accidentally leave in the ovan as it preheats and then take it out and have it in contact with cold water. really cool video. the trip down memory lane and the different version of a SG classic is really cool

this gets very random but this reminded me of a little story. a few years ago, on christmas eve, my dad took an empty glass baking pan/dish thing out of the oven and immediately ran it under cold water and it shattered, literally exploded. he ended up stepping on a small piece of glass and when he pulled his sock off to remove the glass, the glass came out with the sock, when I tell you I was cracking up lmao.

Fun fact the statue of liberty is actually made out of copper and that's how it got it's green color :)

Looooved this revamp of DIY’s! I might try them. Just a question about the silicone light strip, how do I use the rest of the strip once I’ve cut it off? Maybe you could make a short video on this, please? I’m scared to cut it and then not knowing how to use the rest of the strip 😓

You usually can not Re-use the part you cut off as it has no Power supply. Once its cut, its off to land in the trash, unfortunately. So always try to buy the length that is closest to what you will actually need.

@@katl6428 power supplies can be bought seperately and if you're not confident in soldering the led strips yourself, you could always give it away to someone who can. it's a perfectly working component and does not need to be thrown away

I was thinking the same, it's basically verdigris - honestly I don't think you can have issues unless you ingest it, but I'd still rather not touch it, even just because it may still rub under your fingers and stain things around you

Liver of sulphur is a great patina and it works a lot faster . Plus you can get it in a gel like state so you can really paint it on.

Rachel, re: mason jar crafts. Any homesteader or Southern homemaker uses mason jars for all sorts of things. 😊 have done for decades. Also, I really love the copper handles

Rachel, As soon as I saw the original I was worried about heat build up in the jar. Your variation is much safer. Next time you need a mason jar go thrifting. I get any size mason jar for 20 cents each at Goodwill.
