I love a tiny home, but my favorite thing about these videos is the fact that Mr. Tiny does all of these tours in one long take. In the age of video editing and jump cuts, it's really impressive that he's able to maintain his energy and be engaging for 15-20 consecutive minutes. He has what my grandma would call the "gift of gab."

I'd like to see this floor plan without the loft and stairs. Being older, I don't care for a loft. And, not having the stairs in the way would make the living room larger, and higher ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom. I don't think I've seen a Cardinal model yet without a loft. I also like it when tiny homes have a front and back door with porches, just makes you feel like you have more living space and 2 doors for fire safety exits.

That's what I was coming in here to say as well. It would still be able to have 3 sides as the wall currently with door would then be a solid wall. Just switch shelf from the hallway side to the current door side and put door at the hallway.

The fact that it has a large step in shower, a bedroom w/a walk-in closet & the hallway leading to a door & back porch that's screened in to boot! The one thing I've always hated about these tiny homes is that most all of them have only one way in & out of the home, no other way to get out of the house especially in the event of a house fire or even an intruder. Because of that they always seem like a death trap to me but not this one & I'm glad to see this feature in a tiny home. This is by far my favorite hands down. What an awesome design & price as well.

I like the second bathroom door and back door option. I, of course, would not use the loft but the space for a mattress would be a good place for a big dog bed or two or three small dog or cat beds. The windows in the loft would attract any cat as they like high places to watch everything going on.

I would put a mini-barn door on the pet escape so it didn't swing out. I would make the closet a little smaller to add more space to the bedroom but make the closet entrance from the hallway across from the bathroom. The raised ceiling in the bathroom making a platform for a mattress is a great idea. I think I'd move the cabinets closer to the head of the stairs because I can't crawl on my hands and knees, but then again, I wouldn't build a tiny home with a loft. Nice ideas to accommodate the pets. It's called "niche marketing."

@juliewatson22812 жыл бұрын
By designing tarp/vinyl snap in place window coverage for both porches you can make comfortable day use all year round. See the flooring with a wall to wall rug. Place bench style seating with foal mini-cushions/ thin mattresses to use as a sofa, and put in bench style seating that once lid is lifted it carries storage underneath, if all are benches, you have sleeping room for 3-4 more, or turn it into a large dining area with taller coffee table. The idea of a mini dishwasher under the sink is a great idea. Simply create a storage pantry under the area where the tv is mounted and you aren’t losing any storage space. You could probably do all of the add-ons for $2000 to $4000 more.

@bluewrenbirdie2 жыл бұрын
Changing the porch into interior space would add to the square footage (exterior aren't included when calculating this) which takes you over the 399 sq ft limit to be a park model home. I'm sure it's doable if requested, but you'd then be classed as a single section rather than park model.
@latonyanewsome02 жыл бұрын
@@bluewrenbirdie You missed what I'm saying. The hallway is already included in the square footage. I'm simply saying omit the hallway to provide a bigger closet. The hallway is needed to get to the back porch. If there's no back porch there's no need for the hallway leading to the back porch thus leaving interior empty space that could be added to either the bathroom or closet. I'm not asking to use the porch space as extra square footage. I'm asking to reconfigure the interior space that's already there aka the hallway in the bedroom. Maybe I should have phrased it differently. Didn't mean the confusion.
@bluewrenbirdie2 жыл бұрын
@@latonyanewsome0 Ahh sorry, I read it as swapping the back porch for more space as people ask to do that a lot. They have a version of the Cardinal already without the back porch, the closet spans the full width and includes the washer/dryer. The space in the kitchen is then a pantry.
@latonyanewsome02 жыл бұрын
@@bluewrenbirdie I'm aware of the other models. There are other walk-in closet models that I like. I just like this one the best because it has the storage space under the steps in the bedroom and not like in the kitchen. It's something I have not seen yet.

One of he tiny houses that I really like. Especially the back hallway. That back porch makes a wonderful second bedroom, a sleep porch for summertime use. Suggestion instead of just a table. Create a set of cabinets the length of that space , but wider or deeper depth. You can create a mini pantry with the tv up above. Put a narrow rectangular table on the other side of the sofa, for a lamp table. Then a chair for watching tv on the other side of that. If it’s safe table height you can set stools h dear it and use it for dining. If the cabinet area below the tv area had a ledge jetting out, you could put 2 narrow stools under it, thus having seating for four to eat. Just on slightly different sides of the room. You might even have room for a narrow coffee table sing the chaise as the seating area to dine, thus being able to have seating for 6 to dine or room for a small buffet. That left area looks like it could handle 4 twin mattresses. Love that elevated side area in the left. Could crate a day bed affect, Mount a smaller tv in that wall and you have the perfect area for combined sleep and rec room for kids, visitors and you have an area separate for the adults downstairs. Doesn’t take a lot of add on to create really nice summer cabin or all year round living. Off that back porch area, I’ve seen larger boats that have vinyl clear windows sewn into tarps that can be snapped into place as a buffer to inclement weather. You can create a set to cover the screened window up above and then a solid snap on tarp for down below. Heck, you could do a variation on that tfor he front porch too. We had a tent camping trailer that had zip down screen doorways so you could seal it up in bad weather or chilly cold weather. Mimic the back, but for that top open piece, put in a custom designed tarp that uses heavy duty tarp canvas. Need a step ladder to do it, but snap into place in September, when winter rains start and undo it when it warms in April. The lower section can be solid tarp that snaps into place with a separate zippered vinyl door entry way to get in and out of the house, to make it two separate usable rooms for all winter long. Add one of those wall mounted heater/ac units to both porches, put wall to wall free standing rugs in place and you are as snug as a bug in a rug all year long.

I'm laughing at how the front may not be for your dog, but "Hey, we've got the back porch, which is screened in too." When I first rescued my German Shepherd at 1 1/2 years old, as soon as he walked in, he ran the entire length of my current home to the very back (which has floor to ceiling screened-in windows), and he FLEW through the screen and *almost* ended up in the canal just because he saw a duck. Luckily, I managed to grab him by the tail and then was able to pull his whole body back in. So nope, screen won't work for me either.

If the roof line could be raised for a stand up loft area, I'd be more sold on this size/model. The LR area is a bit small. But like it overall. I'd want the ceiling fan to be added to the screened in porch, not so much in the front porch since there's a more open gable. The rear screen door on the porch doesn't have a header (not sure if that's what it's called) so bugs could get in defeating the purpose of the porch, maybe added after delivery? Thanks for showing this, don't recall seeing it before.

Love your tiny homes. I would love to see a small closet in the loft of these, especially for those who would use the loft as a guest suite or childs bedroom. Also it would be nice to see a drop down or pop up kitchen table somewhere even if it was in the living room. I also love the bathroom space but would like to see one with a tub even if it was a small one. I personally have been watching these tiny homes get better over the years and could see this as a great option. The only main issue I have with these is land. It would be nice to find these communites with the land sold with the home, even if the land was only a smaller plot. I could see more people buying into these if they could get one with the land for under $120K.
