Hey, Mr. Tiny! I would love to see a home that is designed for seniors. NO loft, NO clerestory windows, and less windows in general, raised up to make opening and closing (and cleaning!!) of them easier. In a tiny home, you don't need so much "natural light". Some of us like our privacy too, and not be exposed to the world from any place in the house. Nobody likes to be seen without their teeth in their mouths. LOL!!! We don't need ultra fancy, just affordable to purchase and live in. Thanks!

I'm in my 30s and I'd prefer that too. Your comment made me laugh😊
@lucygray61623 жыл бұрын
I'm quite a senior myself, and I suppose it would depend on your location. Saw some ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) in Canada surrounded by tight housing. Everyone could wave to each other and no one had privacy. Ugh !!! But those high ceilings do reduce the claustrophobia of a 12 ft. wide home. And I like having a loft for grandsons and other youthful visitors. Not to mention storage of things we can't bear to throw away.
@Kharizmah3 жыл бұрын
I like the clerestory windows, but a few less windows for more wall space and NO LOFT! Not a senior yet, but mine wouldn't be in a compact community. Kitchen is the perfect size, I personally would like reduced appliance sizes and more counter space or pantry. I don't get why you need such huge appliances for 1-2 people.

Nice that a tour of the exterior was done. It's amazing what they can do with 399SF. The only thing I didn't like about this one is the bedroom closet. It would be difficult to access the part of the closet that is tucked in behind the wall. I would ask them if they could open that up and maybe put some other type of door, like the sliding doors, so that you can have easier access to the entire closet.

@InJeffable3 жыл бұрын
I love the way the white paint contrasts with the cedar accents on the exterior. Quite an eye-catching look. I think this bears mentioning because it's such a great feature that I almost never see in a tiny home: The kitchen doesn't get in the way of the dining space! I'm not a Michelin star chef. I don't need miles of countertop space in the kitchen. I'd much rather have space for a good-sized dining table, and that's exactly what I see in this home. It's easily my favorite feature in the Travis. Also, the rolling island is a nice touch in case someone does want extra space for food prep without it encroaching on their dining area. The washer and dryer behind the door is a nice feature. It's a great use of the space behind the stairs. I get the appeal of the one-piece fiberglass shower (easy cleaning), but I've always noticed in these videos that this type of shower tends to be more elevated from the bottom than a tile shower. I think I would have to go with a tile shower for that reason alone. As tall as I am, I don't need extra elevation from the bottom in a shower space that already doesn't have much room at the top due to a loft. Also, it looks like the bulk of the fiberglass piece removes a few inches of length and width you would have had with a tile shower. In a shower that small, you need all the space you can get. On the plus side, I like the adjustable rain showerhead and the cutout in the ceiling. The bedroom is one of the better ones I've seen with a loft over it when it comes to ceiling height. Still not great, but I think it would be acceptable for someone Mr. Tiny's height or shorter. Even as small as it is, I like this style of bedroom closet better than the ones where you have two mini-closets in a tiny home bedroom. Also, the bump-out for a queen-sized bed is a nice feature that gives the room a little extra aesthetic appeal. I like the loft. Nice and spacious. Perfect for storage.

Nice home, nice layout, great presentation. Everything you pointed out is a positive aspect. The white exterior and interior, with the splash of light grays and black appliances is very flexible as a neutral environment. Putting the washer and dryer behind the door is novel, but must be a pain to install. Having all the functional systems set up for convenience is very nice, almost plug-and-play. At least it gives that impression from your exterior tour. The slats around the porch are very nice. Also, great coordinated outfit for this unit, as always.
