For an Aston Martin or Williams I would recommend Alfa Romeo's Head of Aero I can't quite remember his name but I think he's 80 overall and asks for about 2-3 million a a year

I think Ocon is a very underrated driver in F1 manager 22. You can sign him even at Aston Martin for wages between 4million to 5 million monthly and 700k bonus for 10th place. I used Ocon to replace Stroll and he drives very consistent and better than Vettel in most races for me. He is currently able to even compete for good points(around 5th or 6th place) with the aggressive car development I'm doing at Aston Martin by the mid season break.

Ocon was shocking for me at Alpine, halfway through the season Alonso had 100 pts to Ocon's disappointing 20pts. Quickly replaced him with Norris after he was running in 3rd place in Canada, for him to then spin twice on the last lap and finish 10th.

Vesti is a great reserve driver, his growth potential makes it really easy to develop him. Got him on a 3 season contract hopefully by then he’ll be number 2 driver material

Nice! I did a full overhaul at Williams and got Piastri and Doohan on short contracts hoping to save some money, but Doohan seems to be draining my savings by crashing every other game 😂

I won once with Williams, in the rain where most AI pitted for inters but I gambled with Wets, and it works out

Doing the same at the moment, I bought Piastri, Doohan and Pourchaire (res) on day 1 Though I got all 3 on long contracts before they started asking for money haha. Pourchaire's low reaction stat it already over 70 half way through s2. I actually think that both Doohan and Pourchaire could both be over 75 by the time they are Piastri's age.

I usually go for Simone resta and alfas head of areo and it works really well. I also go for both Aston Martin race engineers if im doing anything but the top 3 teams

so true, I rebuild williams with them and piastri, the race engineers are way better than Jego and Urwin, I often able to nail a good setup of 80+ at the end of Q2 (maybe I was just lucky but it does help)

Yeah Lance's engineer is like the third highest rated at 84, I stole him for my Alpha Tauri save to be Alonso's engineer.

I've selected McLaren and replaced Danny Ric with Piastri after a few races. My reserve seat I brought in Vesti. Glad to know I made good decisions

If youre playing this game for the long run, theres no better option than Oliver Bearman. Not even close. He keeps the high growth potential for so many years. Make sure to get him asap as a reserve when hes avaliable after two seasons, before someone else signs him, put him in every practice, promote to a full seat when ready, and by the time Verstappen retires, Ollie will already be ahead of him, still in his twenties, and by miles be the best driver in the field

He's pretty much good enough to put in the second car right away depending on your team. I replaced Stroll for him and he beats Vettel.

For current f1 drivers carlos and charles are not only very quick on there own but they make a great combo, as charles will mostly take pole and drive away from the pack if you manage him well, and carlos will sit behind and either drive away or defend well form drivers, and thus if either makes a mistake the other will be there to pick up the pieces. In 10 races ive taken 9 wins(7 for charles and 2 for carlos) and 7 1-2's. Verstappen will be a big thorn and perez too if you mess up the strategy but theyre incredible

sorry but with drivers literally unless u want to go 20 years into the game. Norris verstappen leclerc and russell is all u need even at williams u can get them quite easily in 3rd season with high team attractiveness and good results. Think the game needed more development into driver transfers etc but 1st time game made by frontier over going with the guys who made the best football sim game, Football manger obviously was a mistake. Think that the game needed more depth without being able to go from a 10th place team to mid table in the 1st season the title contenders in tthe 2nd. If u look at how fm saves go u can see the difference in quality of games over long periods of time. Things like pit crew would be more in depth and driver development would be too. Teams would get a youth intake and then be able to choose if they pay to sponsor those drivers into f3 and f2 before coming to f1. The game a lot of football manager but also f1 fans wanted isnt what we received to cater for the more casual gamer but fm deals with this easily by allowing u to delegate things. Big oppurtunity missed because frontier got there hands on it. Same with jurrasic world evolution. Would be much better in the hands if it was made to the same standards as planet zoo instead of the dumbed down game which was recieved.

Latifi sucks soooo hard. He crashes or runs wide all the time for me. So if you can get rid of him at Williams, go for it. Pick up any of the 3 they mention here. He is such a waste of space. I was doing good with Albion P11 and Latifi P13 with 5 laps to go and of course Latifi crashes out. It seems anytime I get him in the top 15 he some how either crashes or does multiple run wide and ends up p18 or lower.

Tondi makes a huge difference but he retires after 1 or 2 seasons.

The managers progress differently in every new game, so recommending specific ones apart from maybe the first year is pointless.

you can add more fuel into the car at race start and some engines use less fuel, Redbull is the fastest but ferrari has better fuel economy.
