True. The worst jobs are the ones listed online. The best jobs come from people you know. Unfortunately for me my family and friends never had anything going on for themselves. So I'm stuck in the curse of not knowing anyone and it's weird trying to make friends/network these days. Where I'm from in the UK, it's very hard to get to know people. People are very very isolated. Whereas the few Americans I met here who came from small states, asked for my Instagram and we became friends in the span of the brief 2 weeks holidays they were in the UK. They even wanted to meet me to say bye before they boarded a flight back home! UK people arent like that. They are very isolated. In the UK, I can know people for 6 months to 2 years and still wont consider each other friends.

People are human and this is also why I feel like remote work (even with all the benefits and there are still many!) can really make it difficult to properly build relationships and thus a real bonafide network. When you get the network affect going, you have people that want to bring you in because they remember what it was like working with you.

If tech recruiters are only there to filter out bad candiates since they dont know what they are talking about, are they then not ripe for replacement by AI?
