Looks like you kept the melody on the second string like the original for the flex! IMO, it sounds better this way too. Great, great tremolo!

Thank you! I like the second string as well. For the purpose of the video I also kept the original repeats, going back to the minor, but normally I just play A-A-B-B-Coda.

@@GoharVardanyan back in the late '80s when I first learned this piece, the AABB Coda was the form I was taught. I prefer this too. I always hear it this way. Glad to hear it isn't just some ingrained bias in my aural perception.

The original has fingering on the first string. I found someone showed the manuscript stanleyyates.com/articles/tarrega/recuerd.html#ms It is not possible to play all on second string. It seems that almost every guitarist starts on second string to keep the phrasing. but you can't do the same in the A Major section. Therefore second string is not required to play better. It is easier to play tremolo on the same string. I believe the difficulty is in transition of the strings using the tremolo which requires clarity and evenness. Gohar always does well with this technique

Surely this is the best interpretation of all. I have screened through a dozen versions from various artistes. Some are really exaggerated and unreal despite being perfect. Ms Gohar's version is emotional without being too exaggerated and listening to it soothes the soul.

Hi Maestro! Just wondering whether you can do a video on how to know whether guitar sounds a lot better because one chose a higher tension string? I am always puzzled and I have not seen anyone doing a real life comparison of sounds between different tension strings on the same guitar? Thks.

@@HumbleIdeas I don't use high-tension strings. The kind of strings one uses and the way they sound is very individual and it depends on the guitar and the person's touch/technique. High tension strings don't automatically make a guitar sound better, or louder. Yes, generally, they are considered louder because you can play them harder. However, I've played guitars with high-tension strings that sound choked, meaning the string tension was too much for the guitar to handle, and that guitar sounded better with normal tension strings. You have to experiment yourself, on your guitar and with your hands to find the strings that suit you.

Any recommendations on how to achieve a clear tremolo on any string but the first? I can’t get the second to sound distinct and not strike the adjacent strings.

It’s hard to make recommendations when I haven’t actually seen you do it. If your fingers are moving properly you shouldn’t hit the strings below them, but the inner strings do constrict the movement of the fingers a little, you do have to be more careful about how much your finger swings out.

so beautiful piece and performance....I have a question regarding the piece which side is the melody the tremolo or the base line...other guitarist keep telling that the base line is the melody but I see that the tremolo is the most beautiful part in the piece

Thank you :) It depends on the passage, both can be important, it's not always one or the other. Sometimes the tremolo line is just on one note, but the bass moves and is more interesting, so you have to bring that out. Other times it's the opposite.
