all the best on your travels ,im amazed you are doing this withj no electric assist at all, we are designing really big electric self powered we campers now for bikes ,trikes and recumbs, we are experimenting with follow me technology to so you wont actually need a tow linkage ,it will follow you at set perametersand steer itself ,turns out wasnt to hard and werte able use arduino hardware and sensors
