Q1. Is it possible to have 1:1 self recursive relation in an entity set? for example a game is played between two teams (referred to as host_team and guest_team). Here game is a relation set which associated with team entity set recursively. Q2. If fist question answer is a "yes" then how it is mapped into relational schema?

Yes, it is possible to have a recursive relationship of 1:1 cardinality. E.g. Marriage relationship, one employee from employee entity set is married to another employee of the same entity set. So, it is definitely possible. Does your first question end there? I didn't understand your example with reference to recursive relationships. For relational schema, create a relation with name employee(example I have taken) and include all attributes associated to employee entity set and if the relationship has any attribute include that in the same relation.
