As soon as I saw the Red I was like "oh, this'll be a great April fools, he'll pretend to crash it and we'll have a laugh" then you crashed so all was expected, then saw the Sony and realized maybe you didn't mean to crash it afterall. Now I have no idea what to believe.

I do aerial photography with fixed wing RC aircraft. Often the biggest risk is for the camera gear. Since becoming more aggressive with my flight photography, I have invested in a number of shock resistant and waterproof cases etc. I still have a few raw nerves when say, flying over the ocean. I am never 100% comfortable it will all come home. You had me for a sec, sorry for your smaller loss. Thx for sharing! -Den

I thought the quality of the "Red" camera was kinda weak.. but I still bought the joke, even after you crashed it, because I could tell it was a legit crash and also the shock in your voice was obviously real.. so you got me good until you were walking over to it and I remembered what day it is.. Can I just say well bloody done for actually pulling a GOOD april fools day joke. These days tech companies do the lamest 'pranks' that they clearly don't even bother trying to fool anyone, its more a competition to who can come up with the stupidest product idea etc. So props to you dude.

I literally knew that it was gonna go down. You just don't cut off a foam nose and fit a full on camera worth thousands of dollars and hope it flies. It seems that many of your aircraft have a lot of very "draggy" cameras and equipment on the front of the fuselage. Besides the CG do you take into account the drag of the camera and the pan and tilt brackets? All that area in the front and below the center line would act with a couple force somewhat similar to a fixed canard. You also have the long landing gear and wheels, In order to counteract that force you would need an extra large horizontal stabilizer and elevator control surface.

Just make sure, you take apart that camera and clean all the circuitry very well with some isapropanol. To get rid of any current and future corrosion, it is probably savable.

1 April apart. A free and REALLY good tip. With like 2k you can build (most parts arf) a RELIABLE plane for filming can hold a red can gear like this video with flight stabilization for better recorded or single man operate and flight many times you need. I can help you if you need

You got me good thinking it was the red on there! I felt exactly the same as you when you said "we should all just sit on the couch and do nothing with our lives than do anything that has liability". I strapped my fpv gear and go pro to my bixler and flew around but i was losing my rc link momentarily but i convinced myself to keep flying only to have it lose rc link again and crash to the ground. All my gear never worked the same after that. I also managed to fly a TREX600 into a powerline and have 10000 volts go through it, fell to the ground in a molten metal mess. Pretty much nothing was salvageable.
