this has helped me: tipping for takeout: $1 for each person you’re buying for (5 people in your family = $5, etc) if it’s just for myself maybe i’d do $2 coffee shop: 10-15% restaurant/service: 20% (+/- for quality) if i’m taking my own order or fast food, no tip lol also smacking lips while chewing gum🚩

I totally disagree with the returning a meal at a restaurant. I received burned salmon. Could only taste burnt. My husband had fish and chip and the fish wasn't cooked. The server said she would give us a discount. We asked for the manager. We got our meal for free. We left the server a tip because she didn't cook the meal and tried to make good. But I think we had every right to complain about our meal.

As a waitress, it’s okay if you send food back as long as you’re respectful.

A tip was meant to show your appreciation for extremely good service for the wait staff of a restaurant and was allocated according to the service less if service was bad and more for better. but the lines have grown so far that even fast food lines have a option for tipping and some are charged before the service of the meal, and some restaurants now add a tip when you have a party of a certain size like 6 people or so. I have received a bill at the restaurant that had already added a tip but I didn't realize it and they had added a 20% tip and I tipped approx. the same amount. That was a way to loose customers.

This one was interesting! A little hard to follow at times, lol. I listened to this while I was on a walk but had to come here to comment. Of course I'm sure everyone has to make their own opinion on red, beige and green. As for sending food back at a restaurant and feeling like you have the right to do so because you are paying for it... I have to respectfully disagree with you. In retail establishments, Amazon, etc... if you order something and you don't like it, it doesn't fit, whatever, you can return it and get your money back. At a restaurant, if the food comes out cold or is undercooked, I feel I still have to pay for it and its ok to respectfully ask that it is corrected to my satisfaction. It isn't always and that's when I know that I'll just have to cross that restaurant off my list. Otherwise, they don't know something is wrong if you don't tell them. We all work very hard for our money and restaurants are expensive. Additionally, if I ordered something and I just don't like it, I usually just deal with it because I made a bad ordering choice and that is not on the restaurant. However, I've been amazed at how many times the waiter has picked up on the fact that I'm not eating it and perhaps I don't like so they have offered to get me something different and not charge me for both. Oh no, I've written a book about returning food! Geesh, I better get back to work. Thanks ya'll.

A lot of those sounded more like icks than flags. But I guess that's what the beige is for; to me, I see beige as 'could go either way'.

If you work really hard and can only dine out maybe once every 6 months for for a special occasion and my food came wrong…then YES I would have no problem, respectfully request they bring it back and get it right. Nothing worse than very excited to eat a delicious meal and then it’s not. Nothing wrong with it.

I have to disagree to some degree. Red flags and deal breakers. Red flags require further investigation. For instance, a guy lives with his mother could be a red flag. It needs to be looked at. Does he live with mom bc he’s doesn’t have a job and mooches off of mom. That’s a deal breaker. Or is he living with mom because she needs help financially or she needs extra care. Then the red flag goes away. As for abuse, that not a flag at all. It’s a deal breaker.
