Wow, it looks absolutely stunning with all those flowers and weeping branches! The bees seem to be enjoying the flowers too!

It's really is a great one for bees, Peter. Most of my citrus are in flower atm. It's so pleasurable going into the garden and watching the pollinators doing their job.

The flowers are a stunning colour on that one Dom, even more eye-catching than regular finger limes. The plant is also a great shape and form 😁

Thanks, Brett. Yes, the flowers on this Red Center lime are gorgeous and smell really pleasant. It's incredible the variety of citrus that come from cross pollination. With several citrus in flower at the moment, I'm tempted to grow out the seeds of the fruit to see if any interesting hybridization occurs.

Thanks, G ... Yes, the bumblebees seem to approve of the citrus flowers in my garden. I imagine your garden is full of them at this time of year.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. This is really an interesting hybrid. Its a lot of fun exploring the countless number of citrus species, hybrids and varieties out there.

Wow, that is a stunning plant! The flowers have a beautiful pink tinge to them.

One can never have too many citrus ... We were talking about Lubera earlier so I revisited their site and "teased" myself over all the citrus I'm no longer allowed to buy from them. LOL Frustrating because their prices are very reasonable.
@garycard14565 ай бұрын
The Citrus Centre offer something different from the run-of-the-mill offerings at UK garden centres, but their prices are a ripoff!
@MoebiusUK5 ай бұрын
@@garycard1456 Yes, Citrus Center are awesome but very expensive. I do approve of their selection and dedication to the world of citrus. Speaking of "rip-off", I just visited their website. They are selling a Eureka Lemon 160cm height for £295. I have 2 Eureka Lemons. I bought from YouGarden for £30. They are both now around 160cm. 😂

@@MoebiusUK There's no way I'd pay a fiver shy of £300 for a 5 foot lemon! I ain't into instant large specimen trees, anyway: I find it more rewarding to get a 1 foot nursery standard and nurture it over the years. Eventually it will get to 5 feet.

Very nice, getting some blooms here now as well! One of my seedlings from the fruit I planted from last season appears to be a successful cross with the yuzu pollen.
@MoebiusUK5 ай бұрын
Oh wow, that sounds very interesting. I was thinking about trying to hybridize some of my citrus also. It takes quite a bit of time and effort but worth it. Did you hand pollinate or lets the bee's do it?

Hand pollinated 🖌️ @@MoebiusUK

What a fabulous tree!! Is it a cross between a finger lime and blood orange? I was trying to cross pollinate those two earlier when they were both in bloom, but obviously it was completely unscientific, so I really doubt I will get any seeds😆 It would be so amazing to have a sweet Finger Lime though.
@MoebiusUK5 ай бұрын
Thanks, Dani ... Isn't it incredible the variety of plants we get from cross pollination? I hope your efforts at hybridization work. I believe this plant is actually a cross between a Fingerlime and a Rangpur Lime .... although a Fingerlime / Blood Orange cross sounds awesome.

@@MoebiusUK it would be so much fun to create something like that!! Hope you can do a taste test on the larger fruits soon. Looks like you're going to have a bumper crop!

Hmm, I didn't know the hybrid variety of finger lime exist in the world. How is the inside of the fruit?
@MoebiusUK5 ай бұрын
It has loose vesticles that break apart like other fingerlimes. They can be eaten at various stages of ripeness. When not fully ripe the vesticles are a light clear colour but when fully ripe they develop a redish tinge to them. It's a really interesting hybrid.
@edark945 ай бұрын
wow... that's one stunning specimen. How old is it?
@MoebiusUK5 ай бұрын
Thanks, Emil. Not sure how old it was when I bought it but certainly a few years old. I bought it during my trip to Italy in April 2023. It really is an interesting hybrid. A cross between the Rangpur lime and Australian Fingerlime. The amount of flowers is spectacular and i'm hoping this year it produces many fruit.

Thanks, Sam. It really is very a pretty looking plant when covered in blooms. Smells wonderful too. I havent tried propagating it via cutting but I have successfully grafted it onto Poncirus.
