Hold start to open map instantly. Open cinematic camera and press "A" once to auto run straight all the way to your destination. Up on D-pad shoots up in the air, Aim down sights in First Person with down on D-pad, left on D-pad changes over shoulder third person view from right to left.

Well it's better than a loading screen. There's a "fast travel" mode, that works a little bit like stage coaches. Upgrade Dutch's tent for about $200 and then an option appears in the ledger for about another $325 that allows Arthur to travel quickly to towns and ranches.

Couple things, When he says “select” for autorun that’s the “touchpad” on PS4. And “X” to save the outfits is “square” on PS4. The trapper isn’t the only place to sell perfect pelts, any butcher in towns will take them - seems like he’s talking about the crafting options the trapper has? Also, they say the city name “Saint Denis” like “Sane Danee” ingame. That’s because it’s supposed to be a Louisiana city. Lastly a tip of my own, hold R1 to reverse when you’re on a wagon. I might have missed a tutorial on this but I got stuck on a wall for two minutes trying to figure it out. Maybe I can save one of you from that lol.

@@TH0UX4N "Legendary" and "Perfect" are two different things. You can sell perfect pelts to any butcher. Also, I don't think you can get rid of that pelt. Try going to a Trapper (Paw Mark on map, only at two locations Saint Denis being one, a remote stall near where you killed the bear is the other) the pelt should show up as "sell-able" to him. After selling him a Legendary pelt he can craft items with it, granted, nearly all items require other perfect pelts on top of the legendary pelt.

@@TH0UX4N You'll have lost the opportunity to sell it for money, but the Trapper will have it logged that you got it so you can still get the legendary bear outfit items from it. And you can sell perfect pelts to any butcher, but many of them are useful for crafting at the camp, and the trapper needs perfect pelts of many varieties to make many of the legendary clothes. So, it's a good idea to donate to camp or sell to trapper. You'll know if you need it for crafting at the camp if it shows you a monetary value when you select it in the donate screen. If it shows no money value, then it's needed for crafting. If it has a money value, you don't need it at the camp.

@1:51 WRONG! You do NOT have to progress into the story to unlock your dual wield and for fence or lock breaker! The moment you are able to fast travel via post office, travel to Saint Denis where you can unlock these options. You skin 3 deer to able to unlock talismans (master hunter) holster for dual wield, from the Trapper, at no charge. The lock breaker is bought at the fence, next to the trapper, for $25. Do these things the moment you have a little cash and as early as possible to make your experience as time saving as possible.

I feel the same - and the game is much harder than most people are talking about. The combat is pretty difficult, law enforcement strict, if you get a Bounty on you it makes playing a nightmare and you should pay it ASAP since no other options besides dying a lot and using up more money than if you paid it. This is my 1st Red Dead game and I am finding it extremely difficult - there is no difficulty settings when you start the game, just seems to be unforgiving at the start. Huge time sink and I feel lost all the time. I'm in Chpt 2, game just released 24 hours ago,. no idea how some of these people have so much already - I'm just outside Valentine and doing quests here.

Best moment so far. Bought a pump action shotgun from the store. Went out riding and some gang members came after me on horseback. One got real close to me. Exploded his head clean off with buckshot as he ragdolled off his horse. Close range shotgun kills are the best. Limbs and heads come clean off

You said the auto run feature works great.. We've had different experiences. I was using auto run earlier and it ran directly into a train throwing me to the other side of the tracks and killing my horse. :( lol. When you change outfits the way he did (Stowing the preset outfits, into your horse) it will remove your talon talisman (in case you have it) which give you 5 more secs on dead eye mode.. I highly recommend customizing several outfits 1 by 1, saving em, then stow "those" into your horse..Hope that help. And Thx for the video buddy, I'm enjoying Rdr2

Fence is unlocked straight away when the map opens up. Just buy a train ticket to Saint Denis. U can buy the lock breaker tool from him aswel. So uve got it at the start of the story. Saves u back tracking when u unlock it thru story progression

Another way to either get your horse to start or stop following you is when your horse is nearby hit the whistle again and instead of whistling you'll either tell the horse to come or to stay. The whistle mechanic actually has a lot of interesting uses throughout the game, I didn't start to realize it until I was almost finished though lol

My tip: If you sprint towards someone then hit melee you will grab them and get them on the ground, you get an option to execute with R2. Depending on the weapon you are holding the animation will be different. If you are using a pistol you will put the gun under their chin and fire, if you are using a knife you will slit their throat. If you are unarmed you can choke them out by holding triangle. Oh and if you do this with a lassoe in your hand you will knock them down and hogtie them.

Whys everyones horses die so easy i have had the same horse the whole game and i have completed the game now. The only time it dies is the last mission where it dies in a cut seen. Also i ran into about 50 trees and fell of a cliff like 30 times and only needed to revive it once

If your horse is followin you, you can do it his way but the whistle button on top of d pad can be used. Hold it for a long whistle to get it to follow or tap it really quick when it's following you and the horse will stop

An easy way to ‘sell’ jewelry early on before you have the Fence or if you’re just at camp is contributing your jewelry to the Tithe box at camp for full price. Very useful for upgrading the main camp as soon as it’s available. It was available for me after I collected a loan through the German guy (Straus?) at camp, and unlocking the Give to the Poor achievement. You can contribute gold bars to the tithe as well. My camp is almost fully upgraded

Ps the pump action shotgun is one of the preorder bonuses buy it for free at a gunsmith. I have the ultimate edition idk if it was just for that one or the special edition as well. Pss there’s a gold bar a little south of the main camp in a totally burnt out vacant town in a lock box under a desk in the building to the right of the only not burnt brick building at the north of the town with a useful crafting recipe as well.

@3:05 save your jewelry. Just start with the treasure maps and sell the gold bars. Also, donate gold bars to your camp in order to level up Arthur's tent, which then unlocks fast travel.

You actually dont need to do any story missions to unlock the fence,if you go to the very east edge of the map to Van Horn Trading Post theres a fence there that is available immediately,you can also unlock duel wielding through hunting and also dont have to do story missions,buying a second holster from the trapper,takes some skilled hunting though.

If you want money get the gold bars and them at the fence, this can be done from the start of chapter two and another thing is that you dont have to progress to unlock the Fence, just take the train to St. Denis and there you can access the Fence within normal working hours so not by night.

The "roaming trapper" has been located on the West side of the map, at the map border West of Big Valley, past the snake and cougar icons, North of the end of the river flowing North from Lake Owanjila. He doesn't roam, just is out there for the semi-convenience of crafting and offloading piles of pelts and rolls of Elk furs that can be farmed out there.

If you lasso any sizeable animals like deer, moose, boars, etc, you can keep the lasso on them, walk up to them, and kill them. The pelt is not affected whatsoever. My favourite method of getting perfect pelt. Also, make sure to use the Varmint Rifle for small animals. I find it works better than even Small Game Arrows

there is an option to change your controls to "traditional" FPS that helps a great deal for first person mode, I used to use this on GTA as well and it makes it more like a call of duty or battle field controls, such as reloading, aiming, and other buttons that you may be more familiar with :)
