If you upgrade Dutch's lodging, it's unlocks the map Arthur can buy that allows for fast travel. Can be handy later in the story if you want to progress a bit faster at times

You guys are getting the hang of the gameplay! It was always gonna take 3 times as long because there are 3 of you, now I think it’s time you get more into the story. Remember you can talk to all your gang members in basic conversation, they were saying hello and you would say hello in person but not in game 😂 I would recommend doing any missions with them; side or main. You guys played some fun story missions off screen that were iconic so it might take longer to get into the story but the story, side characters and Arthur himself are why we all regard this game as one of the greatest ever made.

Every episode I’m more and more proud of y’all! You’re getting the hang of it. So I would just suggest listening to some of the random conversations happening in camp (especially after major events) or even engaging in a chat or two. They tend to speak how they feel, it’s so interactive. I’m so excited for us to dive into the story some more! Also you can always just turn yourself in to a sheriff to avoid paying your bounty! You’re all doing amazing!

So, a few things. The reason you didn't get Donkey back is because you died at the same time she did. If your horse goes down you'll be able to revive them so long as you have a Horse Revive, but if you die while they're down, they're dead. Of course, if that happens you can reload a previous save if you really don't want to lose your horse. Also, if you guys don't want to buy a horse, you can tame wild ones yourself. They spawn at different places on the map and some are more rare than others. About the hunting: There's a lot to it. For one, different animals have different rates pelts which you can see by studying the animal while aiming/looking at it, with 3 Stars being a perfect pelt. If, however, you kill a perfect pelt animal with the wrong weapon, you'll ruin the pelt. So, for example, if you find a 3 Star rabbit and shoot it with a 12 gauge shotgun you're going to blow it to pieces and ruin its pelt, but if you shoot it with a .22 Varmint Rifle however, it will still be a perfect pelt. Also, shooting an animal multiple times, even with the right weapon, can ruin the pelt, so make sure you kill it in one shot. When you study an animal, it will also tell you what weapon/ammo you need to get a perfect pelt, which you guys saw when you studied the grey wolf. Also, you guys can buy completely new outfits in general stores, as well as individual pieces of clothing. My personal favorite is The Gambler outfit which you can buy in Rhodes

You might want to take a look at the Springfield rifle to have a rifle with enough firepower to kill big animals in one shot. The one you used won`t be able to get you perfect pelts because you need multiple shots even if you manage to aim for the head.

I love how every one of you starts to bring in your own style on how to play this game. I think it will get you the perfect mix of more chill/immersive gaming from Quinn, the reckless true grumpy Arthur from the Answer and the most invested into the story seems to be Oak so far. This could work out great. Maybe try to explore the side characters at camp just as much as the stories. It is not made obvious yet but they all have their story that later in the game contributes to the bigger picture. Not sure if you picked up on it but there where some *very* interesting conversations taking place in the camp. You can play the story without them but it is kind of watching the non-extended version of lotr.

You guys have improved so much. You’ve really got the basics down now. I think the only thing I’d add is to have brief chats with people in camp so you can get to know their personalities and how they react to situations in camp like the Pinkertons and Sean being rescued. They’re all fully fleshed out characters with arcs. Use eagle eye(same as dead eye) when you’re looting and it highlights the lootable items. And remember to sleep and eat and feed donkey. I’ve just started a new play through because of you guys and bought the same horse as you. Called her Lucifer. Edit: last thing. In fights keep your cores up, don’t worry, you’ll never run out of supplies and be without further down the road.

Hunting can get tedious, and needs patience for certain animals. Smaller animals (rabbits, squirrels), you use the varmint rifle. Deer and medium sized animals, Lasso, Rifle...etc...also you can hold R1 when targeting an animal to see the quality of their pelts. (1-3 star) and you need a clean kill for a 3 star pelt, like a headshot or lasso.

Tip when you upgrade the camp you can get med suppliesfor yourself as well as ammo, and crafting without going to the store anymore. Also OPEN up the Satchel to Eat meats and COok your meats , they full restore cores . and sell all trinkets IN EMERALD ranch . Open UP the MAP index pressing square and use the D pad to just scroll through the missions or whatever icon and hit waypoint without scrolling through the whole map

Tip for hunting: On the map you will se animal symbols, this shows you that the area is good hunting grounds for said animal. So if you look at the map below your camp is actually good hunting grounds for deer. If you want to sell the hide remember to use a bow to not damage the it. Happy hunting!

37:23 I went home from uni for spring break, and decided to do my second ever run (albeit with a bit of a twist: guns are prohibited unless absolutely necessary; the game sometimes forces you to use guns, such as in duels and other such missions, otherwise I could use weapons such as bows, throwing knives, etc)... as per my challenge, I didn't focus so much on completing missions but instead went looking around for collectibles (such as a Viking helmet and axe), which really made the time fly by... and then I had to go back to campus 😩 The semester is almost over so I can't wait to go back home and continue where I left off. RDR2 really is one of the best games I've ever played and I'm glad you guys are loving it as much as we all do 😌

The game employs real life logic, If you want to kill animals humanely and preserve their skin and pelts, then you have to aim of course for the head of the animal, that way, you get better quality fur etc.

Shooting an animal in the head is not real life logic 😂. Animals have tiny brains, the chance of getting a lethal shot in the head is slim especially because it's already a small target and they move it around quickly. Headshots work on humans because we have big brains, although at any significant distance you still should aim for the torso. In real life hunting you aim for the heart/lungs of an animal

I really advise you to hang out at camp from time to time. Especially in the evening people usually gather around the fire place. Don’t think of the story as being a main mission thing exclusively. The story, but especially the character development and backstories are told as much through these camp gatherings and intimate talks by the fire place as it is through missions. No need to plan for it, just don’t go straight to bed when you return to camp and see everyone else sitting together exchanging stories

Ignore people telling you guys to stick to the main storyline and don't waste time doing things like hunting. Hunting in this game isn't a waste. It's the best kind of food you can get that will keep your cores full during fighting. Also, it doesn't take long to hunt a deer once you get the hang of it. People are just rushing you guys because they impatiently want to see your reactions to the story progression. It's understandable, but, rushing isn't going to give you guys a full idea of how this game works.

While you are right, it also depends how much they deviate from the main story. This game can take up to 200 hours and at ~2.5 hours per week, that's about 1.5 years. Only focusing on the main story takes about 50 hours alone. I think they should increase their upload frequency if they have the time for it. Or we will probably be here for a long time (7-8 months). So I think people are right about rushing, though I also want them to enjoy the game to the fullest.

If you guys manage to hijack a log wagon and bring it back it back to the guy building the house with his sons, (After avoiding the law) you finish the quest and he finishes the house the next day and if you go back, he gives you a pretty decent amount of cash in return for your help. Also on the map, the animals you see on the map (If you zoom in) that have crowns are legendary animals, if you sell it to the trapper(Different from the butcher) gives you access to unique legendary items in the crafting menu.

For hunting it is also usefull to press L3, R3 to activate your hunting vision. To see a scent trail left by animals. Keep an eye out for the 3 little stars at the bottom by the animal, 3 stars means the perfect hunt/kill possible. Using a scent cover is also good to use when trying to sneak up on animals Aiming for the head, or heart with bigger animals like elk/deer, using the right weapon for the type of animal. Sudden movement or sounds can also spook an animal, so keeping an eye out for how the aimal is behaving can also helps

Oh boy, that bear fight was tough! Thought for sure you were done for. Also a few hunting tips (assuming others haven't beaten me to it): How much you can store on your horse depends on the animal. Smaller animals like squirrels, birds, and rabbits go into your pouch when you skin them, so no need to worry about those. But if you want to bring the whole rabbit back you can only store two on your horse. Medium sized animals like deer, boar, and wolves lets you store a bunch since you're just taking their hide (thought might be a limit, forget at the moment, but I've carried five wolf pelts at once). Larger animals like elk, moose, and bear (where you have those big roll of stuff) you can only carry one of them. Likewise if you take a whole deer or boar rather than skinning it, you can only carry one. When selling or donating animals, you don't actually need to take it off your horse. I did that all the time in my first playthrough, but you can actually just go up and sell the items while they're still on the horse. They'll be in your inventory and you can sell it then. Saves you a bit of time. If you use your binoculars you'll be able to tell the quality of the pelt on the animal. Three stars is a perfect pelt and these are going to give you the most money and let you use the pelts for crafting in the camp and at the trappers. Going into hunter mode (not sure if it's the same on the playstation, but for xbox it's pressing both sticks) when you look at the animal paths it will also tell you the quality of the pelt, if you've encountered the animal and studied it before. Getting perfect pelts can be very tricky, even when you can find them. To ensure to maintain the quality of the pelt you need to do one shot kills with the proper weapon. Shooting a rabbit with a shotgun isn't going to leave much left while using an arrow on a bear will just annoy it; you'll need to put a lot of holes in it to bring it down. Generally speaking you'll want to use the varmint rifle on smaller animals like rabbits, skunks, and beaver. Arrows are good for deer and similar sized animals. Rifles are good for boar, elk, and other larger animals. And with all of these a head shot is your best chance for a clean kill. Which is a ton of "fun" while on a horse trying to run down the damn things. The exception to this rule are the legendary animals. These are all white animals with specific territories where you need to use your hunter vision to find clues and track them down. There's only one of each in the game, but thankful you will always get a perfect pelt off them. Just grab your strongest gun and start blasting. However once you skin them there's two places you want to go. Trappers will take the pelts and if you bring them other perfect pelts can make unique clothing and gear. There's four of them you can access on the map, the closest being right near Riggs Station south-west of the gang's camp across the river. The other place you want to visit is a fence, and there's one at Emerald Ranch (the guy you stole the wagon for). He'll make you unique trinkets (one for each legendary animal) that will give you bonuses. If you want to try your hand at more hunting I'd suggest practicing on deer. They're everywhere, so there's a better chance to snag a perfect pelt. Finally, cougars are the most dangerous animals in any Red Dead game. Speedy one-shot ninjas are just the worst. You will know you have become one with the game when you hear a cougar scream and immediately start to panic. ;)

Be sure that in the camp every new day there are chores in the camp marked by Black Dots and those can be done to increase your honor meter and dead eye in case you want to increase those specifically, the chores are not available after evening. Also be sure to take care of any carriage wheel and house icons in the camp those are for jobs that make good money that way you can pour more money into camp. (upgrading the camp gives you access to more items at the wagons, so now when you restock you’ll get the stuff you paid to upgrade) PS: I would upgrade the Dutch lodging cause it tells you that it inspires the others to contribute!!

Nice one guys, make a manual save every now and then if you lose a horse you can reload it and get them back... the white icons in camp are side missions and are chapter specific so try and get them, chatting to camp members and playing poker with them etc, is well worth the effort you will connect more with them and the story etc..

the animals on the map with a crown above is a Legendary animal. the icon means thats Legendary Animal territory so if you track and kill a legendary Animal make sure you take the pieces with you and sell it to the trapper to unlock outfits and stuff

2:03:20 Animal Hide Price varies by Its quality..., if you go hunting and empty 5-10 bullets all over the deer's body and then skin the deer, it will say "poor hide" and the hide will have 1 out of 3 stars on it, representing its quality. BUT if you for example take your bow (like Charles thought you, in the first chapter in the snowy mountains) or a rolling back rifle and kill the deer with one shot in the head or body, the deer hide will be in perfect condition (3 out of 3 stars) and it will sell for a lot more. Just like in real life, nobody wants to buy hide, pelt ect. with holes all over it, RDD2 is no different

Oh noo Donkey2. Guys next time just do a hard reload. You might have to redo some work but still keep the horse. I keep my fingers crossed for Donkey3. My favourite although it is not the fastest horse is the Andalusian. Such a tank of a horse that has bullets for breakfast. Horses in RDR2 do come with different temperaments. Some are super fast but will buck you off because they are scared easily. A good combination of speed, endurance and braveness is also the Missouri Foxtrott. But this one is only available when you are in the St Denis chapter later on.

If you brush your horse more than once, like 3 or 4 times, it will take longer for it to be needed to be brushed again if I remember correctly
