A little tip for combat. If you hold L2 onto an enemy it’ll “snap” onto them making it easier to aim specifically at a body part. Also after you kill someone it’s good to let go of L2 and then hold it again near someone so it will “snap” onto them. Great gameplay so excited you guys are playing this!

once you leave the snow level youre all on your own, its completely open world free roam so DON'T be afraid to just explore the world. In fact most of us spend hours ignoring the storyline so we can just ride out and do personal missions like Hunt Legendary Animals and find new locations, go after Gangs, do Bounty Hunting and random encounter missions. so Take your time, this game can run for hundreds of hours if you just do side missions and make money by hunting and robbing, dont worry about Honor, youre an outlaw

This game breaks massive ceilings in gaming with the graphics and background “gameplay”. For instance theres a building/house that’s being built in one of the towns and as you progress in the game it gets fully built. Most games don’t do that. Also most if not all npcs have a daily routine that they do. This is seriously one of the best games ever made

Some tips for you guys just on controls and everything. R1 is how you crouch behind cover which is important in a big shoot out. If you aim while behind cover you’ll peak the cover so you don’t need to stand out in the open in a fight tapping x or pressing R1 again from behind cover will let you quickly run out of cover. Also in a fight if you stop aiming for a second then re-aim you’ll lock onto a target which makes gunfights a lot easier. Also while locked on a target you can aim up a little and get an easy headshot. Which is an insta kill. When you kill a target a small x will appear on your retical and the screen slightly flashes brighter which tells you that you killed them. If that x doesn’t appear then that target is still alive. Square is also how you reload your guns which you can do from behind cover. Hope that helps love that you guys are playing this game!

Without spoiling, I'll explain the Honor system. You'll gain high honor or low honor depending on your actions. High honor gives you cheaper prices at shops and extra outfits at the tailor. Plus more loot. If you have low honor, then shop prices will remain the same with the exception of dead eye tonics which will get cheaper. Its hard to beat the game with high honor as it requires sacrifices, where it's much easier to play with low honor since you care little about taking lives and doing crimes. The major difference between the 2, again without spoiling is the endings. Whether your high or low by the games end will effect what type of ending you get. In my opinion, both endings are worthy of a conclusion from a great live action western film, so don't worry about what level of honor you want to be at by the games end, just make decisions that feel right to you. It's my favorite way to play.

Welcome to one of the best cinematic gaming experiences there is. This game is truly a gem. A couple tips, Most of the revolvers in game are single action, how they show this in game is that you need to press the fire button twice to fire your revolvers, once to cock back the hammer and again to fire the weapon. The same applies for the lever action rifles, once to operate the lever and again to fire. That looks to be the cause of a little frustration in the gunfights as to why your weapon isn't firing. When you're playing on a console like the ps4 your aiming has a bit of forgiveness with the aim assist feature which basically means if you're aiming kinda near someone and hold L2 it will lock on for a few seconds but it wont hold that lock forever and you'll need to manually aim. You should be able to let go and hold the button again to get that lock back. Loving the gaming channel, can't wait for more.

YESSS i'm so hyped for this!! you guys are gonna love this one! a couple of small gameplay tips i usually give people when they start this game: *1)* in the settings i suggest choosing the subtitles with the speakers' name. it will help you learn characters' names and voices faster/easier. *2)* when riding with another person, don't go too fast, or you'll cut the dialogue short and miss out on important info and backstory about the world and characters. wait until the dialogue has ended and then you can haul ass the rest of the way to your destination if you want lol. *3)* side quests (called stranger missions) are optional, you don't have to do them. but i highly recommend you do because they are super fun in this game and they flesh out the characters (arthur especially) and the world so much more. *4)* your radar in the bottom left corner of the screen is like the side mirrors and rear view mirror of a car, you should give it a glance every once in a while. it will show you where you need to go duing missions, and if you're ever riding around and hear something but can't see where the noise is coming from, your radar will show you. *5)* lastly, explore! there are so many cool little details, easter eggs, and hidden treasures everywhere in this game. 😁 actually *one more thing* that you can totally ignore if you want but you should be aware of: regarding the whole honor/dishonor mechanic... playing honorably is generally much more rewarding than playing dishonorably in this game insofar as you will miss a lot of iconic cutscenes and a few special items if you choose to be a 'bad guy.' playing dishonorably is generally recommended for a second playthrough. so if you are particularly interested in the story aspect and getting the most out of this game, i _highly_ recommend going the honorable route for your first go at it (especially if you plan to only ever play through this whole game once), and probably most other players will agree. but if you just wanna have fun and you aren't concerned with the story so much, then don't worry about honor/dishonor and do whatever you want. you are free to play however you want and you're still going to have a blast either way, and so will all of us who get to come along on the ride! 👍 that's the beauty of RDR2, no two playthroughs are exactly alike, there are just that many variables in this masterpiece of a game!

the gauge and cores are confusing when you first start out. the gauge is that ring around your health and stamina, itll drop when youre tired or injured, it can be increased through exercise and eating but it can also be refilled by drinking health cures or tonics, but the core itself is that heart and lightning bolt symbol inside the gauge. THAT core will only fill by eating food, if the gauge is down you will start using up your core, and when your core and gauge is down you pass out or die, Oak died pretty quickly in the shootout because his gauge kept running out and his core was on red so when he was getting shot he was taking more damage and not healing as quick right after, if your core is on red you dont refill your gauge as quickly. but if you eat solid food when your core is used up you can refill your core and your core can refill the gauge automatically.

This is one of the best story games and Arthur Morgan is genuinely my favorite protagonist in Video games, you guys are in for a ride. It’s a very long but it’s worth it and i hope you guys enjoy it and i'm sure you will. It’s a Phenomenal game. It can be overwhelming at first and the world is HUGE with many stuff to do so just take your time and don’t be afraid to roam the world and many of us actually enjoy wandering around and don’t do the main story for a while so yeah, the world is huge and just take your time with the game and get used to the gameplay and stuff. The fact you can be a good guy or bad guy and determine how certain situations end is my favorite part of this game. The amount of time you can spend roaming around getting the legendary animals, all the UFO and hidden stuff in this game is insane. And the fact GTA 5 even had an Arthur Morgan headstone and holden revolver online when this game came out was crazy too. This is definitely peak Rockstar gaming

One tip i would recommend is staying behind cover as much as possible with R1 during gun fights. You will be able to auto aim on to the enemies and then once you stop aiming you will go back to cover. Also you can switch to first person for the gun fights but im not sure what button it is on playstation.

This has been an entertaining watch so far, team! It's fun to watch you guys learn the game mechanics - it definitely takes some getting used to. Some feedback I can give so far: 1. Shooting. You can shoot your weapon either from an aiming position (aiming in with L2), or from a hip fire position (don't aim at all, just press R2 to start blastin'). The hip fire option is good for close quarters when an enemy is right up in your face. It's less accurate, but you have a quicker fire-rate to make up for it. Hip fire is great with revolvers and shotguns! You can also melee somebody if you're close enough to them by pressing circle (O). 2. In combat, cover is everything; at least for now, while you guys are unfamiliar with the movement and aiming. Whenever you engage, make sure to do so starting from cover or starting from a place where you can get to cover fairly easily. Tapping R1 when near a wall, barrel, crate, etc. Puts you in the cover animation. From this cover animation, you can "peak" over cover /around corners just by aiming your weapon with L2. Releasing L2 puts you back in cover. So you can take cover behind a crate (press R1 when near a crate), then peak over the crate (press L2 to aim and automatically peak over), then shoot the enemy while aiming (press R2), then go back to cover (release L2). Mess around with the mechanic, and you soon get used to it. 3. Aim assist. By default, you will have an aim assist setting already active in your game, which means when you Aim Down Sights (ADS for short) with the L2 button, the game will automatically lock-on to the NEAREST TARGET to your reticle (the small dot at the very centre of your screen). If you can get used to always having the thing you want to shoot near the middle of your screen, when you press L2, the game will automatically target that person/animal for you to shoot. Another thing to note is that, by default, the aim assist puts your reticle right at your target's chest, which isn't always a kill shot (unless you have a powerful weapon like a shotgun). You can use this aim assist to help you fight off multiple enemies that're bunched together. Aim and auto lock-on, shoot/kill, release aim, then aim again and if the next enemy is close enough you'll auto lock-on to them right away. Then it' just a rinse and repeat - aim/lock-on, shoot/kill, release aim, aim/lock-on, shoot/kill, release aim, etc.If you really want to feel cool, you can aim (L2), the game will auto lock-on to the enemies' chest, then you can lightly flick the right analog stick (R) upwards to now be pointing at their head for a killing shot. 4. If you're in a fire fight, I would advise not to be moving around in a crouched position. I know you guys experienced it a few times during your play, so I know you understand how crappy that slowed movement is when you're getting shot at 😂. The counter is to always revert to sprinting. After shooting someone, mash X to sprint (either to cover or toward/away from an enemy). Being quick during a fire fight is the best way to handle them. Another tip: if you do find yourself sprinting toward an enemy, you can tackle them to the ground by pressing circle (O). It's a cool animation, and from there, you can either execute them (R2), or beat them with your gun (O). Hope this helps!

For your bounty, new Hannover has a post office right by the train tracks you can pay off your bounty there. Otherwise you can go to any town on your map to pay it if they're too hostile. GREAT VIDEO!!!👍

pressing the aim button while faced anywhere near your target will make Arthur lock on to the target on instinct so you can shoot right away once you aim and see the red sight. if your target is moving too far away from your sight just stop aiming , look towards the enemy and click the aim button again and depending on your gun you should be able to lock on instantly. revolvers shoot more, shotguns deal more damage at close range and rifles are better with accuracy and damage for long range.

My favourite game ever, you’re in for a treat fellas! Just so you know the mini map will display all the info you need; friendlies, enemies, where to go, what to interact with. And the bottom of the screen will tell you what exactly you need to do. Being a 3rd person shooter, make sure you hit R1 to grab cover, you’ll avoid most of the incoming bullets and save your health! The weapon/item wheel is where you’ll interact with everything on your person, you gotta Hold L1, hover over what you want to use then release to use it. I will admit the control scheme isn’t perfect, but you can adjust it to something more preferable so for Oak, on top of inverting the look you can swap the controls so clicking L3 will sprint, at least on foot. You can find it in the control button layout.

If you press the touchpad on your controller it changes the camera positions and one of the positions puts you in first person if you guys want to shoot in first person

Really enjoyed this one fellers!! I'm a little biased as I've played it for years but I'm VERY glad you started with this one rather than the first game. It's also fun how y'all are taking turns on missions! Great banter, tons of laughs and a little ribbing! The cringe is minimal because we were all noobs at one point or other and I'm confident that at some point I'll stop saying 'Look at your mini map' hahaha Oak, it's OK to not be amazing at everything you put your hand to on the first try, relax and have some fun bud and remember...we may be cracking a few jokes but we're not judging you as a Human Being based on your gameplay. You're going to be rocking this like a veteran gamer in no time, like you are at Hogwarts! Bois, this was fun. Real fun. Can't wait for y'all to get to know Arthur even better!!

Make use of cover more. R1 to lock in and out of cover. Also, you can go first person in this game. I think you guys should take some time to edit the controls to a scheme you all can agree, running, crouching, covering, etc. Press R2 when in close quarters with mostly any weapon, you’ll have fun regardless.

There is a 1st person pov for the Oak, you just have to cycle through the different field of views with the touchpad. But it's better for gunfights and 3rd person is better for exploration

Trying to get to cover, looking at Micah instead of Dutch, moving right next to Dutch instead of just looking at him, strolling out into the middle of the street, blowing the whole surprise attack. Then does it again after he respawns. Oak had me crying.
