The shadows kill fps. Just set shadows to high or medium and you can avoid the choppy 10fps blips even with a 1660ti on high settings

On high/ultra, turn off those sliders (white bars) then you'll see a better improvement in fps.

Sad to see in Ultra it’s dipping below 30fps. Im considering getting an HP Omen 15. Intel i7 10750h, RTX 2070, 16GB RAM. I’m only desiring to play RTS games on it really. But would like to know it could play games like this on ultra at at least 60fps....... Too high expectation??

I have an HP Omen 17 Intel i7 10750h, RTX2070, 16GB Ram. Well in online my fps varies between 30 and 70, but mostly fps is between 40 and 63 depending on the place in the map. For instance, my fps drops to around 30-35 when I go to my camp. Fps is mostly below 60 fps in ultra settings.

I think this is what you can get from an rtx2070 mobile laptop, and also you should consider that rdr2 is one of the heaviest games at the moment

I have those same specs on my 2019 Razerblade only, I have a i7-9750H and upgraded the 512 M.2 to a 1tb WD Black M.2. Those specs will run pretty much every game on High settings 1080p and you get well above 60fps in most titles. These are the games I play on those specs and the framerates I get: Halo MCC : 200-240fps (High) Gears 5 : 100-140 fps (High) NBA 2K20: 80-90fps (High) Modern Warfare: 100fps+ (High) Death Stranding: 90-100fps+ (High) The RTX 2060 is great card for laptops, for gaming and productivity without breaking the bank. Hey I'm guessing it looking at a Acer Nitro 5 because I have the exact same one as the one U just said and yes I highly recommend it I don't have rdr2 but I have just cause 3 and side note the game caps at 60 fps and when I play it's always at 60 fps so yes I reckon U could play at 40-60 fps at high settings for rdr2

Why are you getting only 70-80 fps even on lowest setting? ..On same laptop I am getting 85-100 fps on MEDIUM setting..but cpu temps reach max 90°.......I think u have capped ur fps

undervolt the cpu by 0.5v or 0.10v it will help but cpu intensive games like rdr2 may get some lower frames

It's about a 10-20 FPS difference so yeah you can game it on ultra , it will be around 30-40 FPS . You can go undervolt your laptop for a 30% boost in performance .
