My major complaint was with the Guarma mission/chapter it was a wasted opportunity in my opinion, instead of being stranded in Guarma they should’ve landed in Mexico then had to work their way through Mexico into New Austin so Morgan can actually explore the two districts while building on the established lore in Mexico with Bill/Javier and maybe run into Landon Ricketts or Red Harlow?

I just wish they would find a way to make Red Dead Revolver actually part of the story versus all but ignoring it as if it never happened. I mean, R* pretty much only bought Revolver from Capcom just so they could eventually do their own GTA meets the Old West which they have with Redemption 1 and 2 but still.
@jellyfishtrifle78833 жыл бұрын
@@alucard624 my favourite theory is that Red Dead Revolver is essentially Uncle being an unreliable narrator for his younger years... Red Harlow IS mentioned in both RDR and RDR2 so we can assume Revolver exists in some form, and in RDR2 Uncle says that he was known as "the one shot kid" in his youth, which is a nickname shared with Red himself... It's just a fan theory, but it's a fun way to justify Revolver being canon as Uncles youth, just glorified beyond belief over countless retellings over the campfire, making it almost entirely fictional.

I am not convinced that there has been reality to the existence of any era's morality or "sins" committed against it outside of the final social estimation consensus worth judgement an era's living social group takes of a person's relations with them and life's work at their death. Who the fuck cares that a bunch of people stand around your grave and muse on if you were a "good" or "bad" person or not by their standards? 1. If you want to instigate more duels, you can through holding down R2 slowly as you do inside the gunslinger missions 2. You can commit unarmed assault and without having a prior bounty you usually have an option to walk away, assuming you haven't done anything else (I.E beat him when his already unconscious) 3. The "tutorial" really isn't that long, chapter 1 is 2 - 3 hours or so long, pretty short in comparison to the rest of the game, or even compared to some other games with lengthy beginnings such as Persona 5 or Witcher 3.

I accidentally engaging in the wrong button push, I started playing my third playthrough in first person mode, on a whim I let it ride.... Within minutes I was trading in my controller for a mouse and keyboard, and began what would be my favorite play through, on a game which though familiar, felt brand new. one highlight in particular was the trailer park fights with Trevor in the bikers, in first-person mode they're a total adrenaline rush. later on I adopted the Deus Ex human Revolution camera setup of first-person for everything except cover. when I inevitably replay Grand Theft Auto V, I will be doing it in first person. I'm glad to hear that Red Dead 2 has that option. to those PC Gamers who are still stuck waiting for what I assure you is a forthcoming PC port, in the mean time you may want to try Call of Juarez the Gunslinger to get that spaghetti western feeling.

Lovely game. My only real gripe is that the game is massively open and immersive when you are exploring, yet violently force-fits you into a linear mold during the missions. Just beat this with over 140 hours and I still have bounty missions and strangers missions left to do, as well as a few ambient missions. Red Dead Redemptions 2 is one of the greatest games of all time and Angry Joe is a moron for giving this a lower score than both Skyrim and RDR (I do love RDR). Not having a check all drawers button was a huge misstep, the wanted system was busted, there were a couple bugs... and that's all I have. The gameplay wasn't exceptional but it was fun as hell. The world, graphics, main character, side characters, story, variety of things to do were all brilliant. At any time you could give up on the gang and become a hunter/fisherman, or a mass murdering psychopath. I played most of my first 70 hours in third person and played the rest in first and both were excellent. I hope Razorfist entirely does reviews of The Witcher 3+the expansions and Metal Great Solid 3: Subsistence one day. I have a feeling he'll be forced to eat crow.

38 views, 5 comments, 27 likes, and not a single dislike. It's so strangely exhilarating stumble upon a Rageaholic video so early. And yet, when I inevitably come back to watch this again and again, this comment will bear no relevance. Such simple thrill in this moment, yet before long will be lost… Like tears in the rain. …Also can't WAIT to finally get to playing this game. God-fuckin'-speed, pardner!

I actually appreciate the tutorials popping up here and there. Otherwise I’d forget some of it.

There's an easy way to determine if someone will fight back or not while getting robbed by checking ahead of time if they have a gun or not. If they're armed, they'll fight back. If not, they'll give up and hand over the cash.

Yea well... I would enjoy it... if the controls weren't shit. Alas they are and I can’t get into it. Its not just “contextualised” buttons, it is everything. From the analog stick only being used for walking leisurely and needing a button to even jog to having to press the trigger twice to shoot once for most weapons. Sometimes less is indeed more. I cant remember if RDR had this control scheme… I loved RDR. Can’t play RDR2, it pisses me off.

You do realize you can change the controls.... You can have the analog stick run instead of the button....
@Praxics08156 жыл бұрын
@@potatokira I have to check that when i find myself trying again to like it probably this weekend. I already changed the run from pressed to toggle to improve the situation but I haven't seen the option to use only the stick movement. It is not only that, those are just some examples. Another would be that afaik autopathing for the horse only exist when using the cinematic camera, however in cinematic camera you give up control and situational awareness. Furthermore the camera does not end on control commands, you have to actively end it. If I may be so bold to compare that to another horse in another current game: In AC:Odyssey it is one button and the horse follows the road to the next waypoint or quest marker and if you touch the analog-stick control is resumed to the player immediately. And again I don’t have to fiddle around with button mashing to get the horse to a certain speed, just move anlog-stick and be done. I give up expanding and shrinking horse testicles any time of the day for more user-friendly or comfortable controls. I don’t gave a damn about horse testicles but controls are essential if you get my drift.

2:40 - YES, baby! What, no mention of _Roundabout_ in the closing credits?

8:18 If a game is optimized for a console and released on PC the game will forever be limited by that fact. The platonic ideal of a video game would be a PC game.

I don't know about you but I always hated that whenever you're on your horse you always put your long arms away. I've been so used to them just being available in the last game that I've hopped off without my rifle and shotgun too many times to count.

I had to say... Fighting hordes of gunslingers or bands, or lawmen didn't do anything for me, neither do bloated spaghetti westerns. Loved the game, but is not as immersive as it could be. It is really far out. For me, a simpler, more humanly acheivable expierence would do it. I don't know, something a bit more credible, not a superhero movie with touches of humanity. The little details do it well, the survival and exploring is spot on. Good RPG. it's the writing of the Missions, mainly main missions that doesn't do it for me. Probably it's because Dutch, it's just too messy, not subtle, not enough preparation, too many enemies to shoot, too "arcady", just shoot as many as you can! And if they shoot back accurately enough, just chug a magic potion! Nope... I don't know if I made my point across, but it's just a matter of preference I supposes.

I couldn't get into the story and the main missions because I found most of the gang dislikable, and in particular Dutch, who is utterly full of some misplaced righteous indignation despite being the architect of his own demise and the constant whining about their predicament make the main missions insufferable to the extreme. The richness of the environment was for me this game's greatest strength and I subsequently spent 90% of the time just going off on my own exploring or hunting for perfect pelts. I think the near perfect game lies somewhere between the story of RDR1 (where the main character's predicament is easier to empathise with, so you're more motivated to progress the story and help him save his family) and the world building and visuals of RDR2

I'd simply like to point out that many IRL western towns had a huge landry list of laws that required fines to be payed, or hard labor, that where designed either to be easily broken, thus acting more as one off taxes, or target "undesirables". Some of which are still on the books, just look at the large number of beard laws

Razorfist, you're damn correct in that Fable has been a very influential series. And it's a damn fine thing, too.

I love this fucking game. I never used quick travel once. The map of the game was just too beautiful to skip. I enjoyed taking care of my horse and Author so much that it didn’t even feel like a chore to shave take baths sleep feed and brush. I wish more game companies would take more time to make a game like rockstar does. If you make a good game and don’t rush it. Rockstar proves you can make more money releasing one game every few years.
