Thanks for posting this. Fought several heavy muskies before placing the cast exactly where you show here - first try. Can do from shore - I just used the map to try to cast right onto the area where the pectoral fin is illustrated the game map. Worked first cast. Tough fight!

If it's nae there, take ur steed for a stroll around the lake and find it on the south southwest of the lake. They will spawn.

Listen up folks! You know that elusive bull moose? While fishing for the legendary here, or getting beaver pelts here, *KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR A BULL MOOSE SWIMMING ACROSS THE LAKE! NO JOKE!* I just got my legendary fish and wanted to pick up a beaver pelt before I left the lake, and in my peripheral vision I see some weird shaped mass slowly moving across the lake. So I finish skinning what I was skinning, and look over to see that it is freaking moose antlers swimming across! That was the last thing I ever expected there. So freaking cool. It broke my heart to kill him as soon as he stepped on land, but I needed his antlers for the camp decoration. :(

This is my third legendary fish captured. I was having trouble understanding the mechanics of fishing but watching this video was the final thing I needed to fully comprehend how it is. Advice: you don't always need to throw the bait so far, in fact the closer of you the easier the catch, sometimes you can really take advantage almost skipping the fishing struggle, particulary with this one I was able to throw in the same location but very close to me and I can actually see the huge thing coming for the bait. Needless to say I was able to do the trick and had a short struggle. But again, this video helped me improve my fishing skills.

I def agree with people who say to check your fishing list to see if you already caught it as it does glitch and not X them all on the map. I could be wrong but I noticed the fish I have caught and forgot about that are not marked off on the map that when reeling in it's very stiff and slow. I think that's it indicating you have already caught it. I have not seen anyone else say this so I could be wrong either way always check your list and look up KZbin or strategy guide if you are not sure what fish.

I just got it for second time. My first time was two years ago. I still can't believe you need Special RIVER BAIT in a godamn LAKE. Since the fishing mechanics are not that complex in a game (i.e could have an in-game explanation why this is needed) I'd brand this as a bug that they decided to leave because probably in all sites it already says you need to use SLB. However, if you play the game without guides, you can't catch this fish because it's completely wrong using a SRB in an explicity lake place. (If you press Alt you can read "OWANJILA, Lake")

You can use both a lake lure and a river lure, doesn't matter! And you don't need a boat, but try catching this fish while it rains, much easier

So make sure when you look at your pole you have the right lure. The lure comes off each time you catch something or change bait. It’s so annoying This is the reason the fish is there but never bites. Caught all the fish in Chapter 2 in bout an hr

Yea..apparently I caught the bugger when Kieran took Arthur fishing and he caught the Legendary Bluegill..after catching the blugill, I literally caught the smallmouth when I casted out again.. If you've already talked with that idiot on the pier near Flatneck Station and bellow the Trading Post even with the Special Lake Lure..chances are you've caught the bitch. Check your compendium and look for Legendary Smallmouth Bass.
