i agree, the dsm car and 4g63 engine are both amazing. it put the 4cyl. into the performance world, still dominates in its class and beyond. no production v8 could ever withstand the 40 to 50 psi on a daily driver like a mitsu does

Mitsubishi design and built the strongest |4 engine ever made, yeah hondas k20 and h22 and nissans rb20s are good but to me the best 4 cilinder engine ever made is the 4g63t.

Had several Talons back in my younger day. Easy ad cheap to boost the shit outta it. Problem was trying to find a transmission that could last more then 2-3 passes without completely shattering. Dealer would cover the first few before they caught on to what we were doing, lol.. Enjoyed the video, thanks!

RIDICULE oh but AWD does mean something lol. Ive lost to lil suburaus running mid/low 13s only trapping 97mph but in my 01 cobra i trap low 14s (between 13.99-14.4 average) with a speed of 100mph+. My car cant launch like an AWD car due to my IRS suspension, it'll just wheel hop. So yes AWD does make a difference at the track.

bob myers thats a suspension issue, not a drivetrain issue. You cant hook because your rear suspension and tires arent sufficient, that has nothing to do with the fact that your car is RWD. a properly set up rwd car at a well maintained track will DUST an awd car of equal power. however on a street thats a different story

Mathew Festoff Yes, a 4cyl turbo is more efficient because a turbo 4 acts like a standard 4 banger when off boost, sipping fuel.. I know, because I had an MR2 turbo that would easily run with 5.0's, Z28/SS's and Corvette's all day, but when I drove normally, it would return a thrifty 25 to 30 mpg's with mostly city driving. But you are right about the DSM's, I've heard they were pretty crap for reliability.. Nissans don't seem the best either. For best reliability, it's Toyota, Subaru, Honda and Mazda! (not counting rotaries of course ; ).

Read consumer reports. And that's when they are stock. I couldn't imagine adding that much power to it and then saying that it's stock. I give props to a nice build but you import guys gotta to get something straight a 800whp 5 liter is going to have less stress on the motor given all things equal then a 4 cylinder at that same power level. Kylealovejoy, and others who dont know. THESE CARS ARE DOMESTICS....They are made in usa by crysler. Now my 89 mirage turbos are made straight from japan. But to argue all this nonsense is rediculous if you dont know crap about these cars. They have a six second eclipse even for many many many years now. Ps i see hundreds and hundreds and wwwwwaaaay more mustangs in the junkyards with hardly any miles on them. Most non turbo eclipse,talon and lasers go more miles. But reliability is all on the owners and how they take care of them so that is just a dumb argument. American domestics will be much better since 2000 when they were behind and now they are doing turbos like the japanese and imports so they will have stronger smaller displacement engines lasting longer. Also giving out way more power per liter than they had before. Did anyone know that mustangs sucked in the 90's . My little 1.6 turbo mirage could destroy a 5. slow and so could my eclipse 2.o turbo. Both were way better on gas and more reliable. I have like 280,000 miles on this engine and ive shifted at over 7,000 rpms for over ten years now on a 25 year old econo sporty car. My other one was similar till an american shop killed it with a bad timing job and somehow stripped the crank bolt. Anyways eclipses die premature because the guys boost without doing proper sapporting mods. These engine can handle like 400 horsepower like the evo's. Even my little mirage 1.6 can handle 400 horses stock engines. Tell me that aint good?

Funny how people think that vehicles assembled in the USA with Japanese parts are "Made in America". If that belief holds water, then those wal mart employees who assembly the bicycles better start pulling off the Made in China stickers and replacing them with "Made in USA" stickers... And yea there are more mustangs in wrecking yards than dsm's, go to Japan and look in their bone yards and you'll see more dsm's than you will mustangs (or any other domestic for that matter) because dsm's are made in japan by Mitsubishi. And there are fast dsm's, but look at the outlaw 10.5" class. There are mustangs that will embarrass every dsm in existence! And if your weak ass trans is holding up to the power your engines making, than you're not making enough to beat a 5.0 that isn't stock, because those dsm manual transmissions start to fail at around the 350-400hp mark. The T5 (Tremec) found in mustangs is a badass unit, and there's a video here on youtube of a fox body raping a modded gtr from a dig with the gtr getting like 2 length and the hit! For every mustang you can beat in your Mitsubishi Galant, there are thousands that would drag your ass! BTW, if you want to hold decent power in a dsm, switch to an auto. The autos that came in dsm's are stronger than their plastic geared 5 speed slush boxes. My cousin had a DSM that had enough power to smoke all four tires... And the transmission at the same time. He put three transmissions in it before selling it.

I bought the Eagle Talon TSI awd turbo when it first came out! It was my dream car at the time...was a blast to drive. Within a years time i had a stack or dealership repair paperwork at least 4 inches thick, no joke! It spent more time in the dealerships repair shop than me driving it. I ended up trading it in for a Civic si. I always remember driving by the dealership to see if the car would ever sell. After about a year it finally vanished from the lot.
