Got my LTT RDO slide in yesterday and noticed this. It took quite a bit of effort to pull the slide back at first. After racking it a couple of dozen times it smoothed out. Took it out to the range today and it functioned flawlessly.

The timing for this video was perfect! I received my 92 Elite LTT last week and was able to take it to the range at the weekend. Out of ~300 rounds I had 5 failures to feed. I guess I just hadn't oiled it enough and also it needs more rounds through it to break in. Amazing gun though! I love my PX4 (with self installed Trigger Job in a Bag + Trigger bar) but something about the LTT 92 feels more solid.

I was fortunate find and buy an Elite LTT Centurion in January at my LGS where I used to work a couple of days per week. It is an outstanding pistol! I will get another, maybe with RDO slide (Centurion?) I think John from ASP said it was magical in his video with you. I have a PX4 Compact (not Compact Carry) that I would like to get LTT treatment but the PX4 conversion page only mentions sending in a PX4 Compact Carry. I also hope to get to your June class in NC...need to gather more ammo.

I personally prefer the standard sights painted hi vis green on my m9 but man that blue steel slide looks so neat. And wow the fitment could really throw some people off if they were under the impression that it has to be perfect right out of the box.

I had a question maybe someone could answer. I noticed that the compact 92 has a consistently heavier trigger pull (.5lbs more) than a full sized frame beretta with the same hammer spring in the grip. Now I know they use the same length hammer spring but since the compact has a shorter grip the spring is already under way more tension than a full sized beretta. Would it be reasonable to cut the spring shorter for the compact or use a lighter spring without compromising reliability? I know the scientific answer will be that it doesn’t make a difference because the hammer spring doesn’t have a variable spring rate. But a spring under tension can suspend more weight until compression than a fully slacked spring can right?..Anyway not an engineer just a mechanic ha. Thanks
@alsmith73163 жыл бұрын
I know this is late, but you cut a springs length to stiffen a spring. Think of this. Say you put 5lbs of pressure on a 3" long spring and it compresses the spring 3/4". This is 1/4" of compression per 1" of spring length. Now, cut 1" off the spring and you will see the math tells us that spring is only going to compress 1/2" with the same 5lbs of pressure. You will need even more pressure to compress the spring the same 3/4". Also, in many applications spring length cannot be altered.

I'm new to all this - just purchased a 92FS Inox. Can I swap out the slide the firearm came with for a matching Inox slide equipped with an RDO (or should I go with a Crimson trace grip laser)? If so, approximately what is the cost for the slide swap?

Since the locking block is so important for the fit and accuracy, at what round count do you recommend changing it out?
@LangdonTactical3 жыл бұрын
I normally replace mine between 10 and 15 thousand rounds. They will last much longer depending on the ammo you use, but they are very cheap to replace so there is just no reason to wait and see.

Good info. Slide to frame fit is way overrated whether it's a Beretta or a 1911. How well does it shoot is the key question.

I have a question I’m thinking about getting the beretta 96 and want to know if I would be able to use the barrel on that cause I would like to switch between 9mm and 40s&w
@LangdonTactical3 жыл бұрын
Many people have done that will good results. My understanding is you need to use 9mm magazines with the 9mm barrel in a .40 caliber slide. I would not want to use it for anything important as the 96 slide has a different breach face and extractor, not made for 9mm.
