Red flags associated with tick bites

I tried tweezing a tick off my back. It was located in a spot that was hard to reach, even while twisting. Every time I put the tweezers on it, it would wiggle. I ended up using a q-tip and putting eucalyptus oil on the tip, rubbing in circles on the skin around the tick. The tick slowly stopped moving and died, still attached. But with some twisting around, without it wiggling anymore, I was able to remove it. I wanted it sent in to be tested. Doctor said no. I had to ask for antibiotics, and all he gave me was a onetime dose of 200mg doxycycline. Then I had to push for further testing. He finally ordered some tests, but I have no idea yet which ones. Doctors do NOT take this seriously!!!

I had the same problem with my doctor a few years ago. I've been bitten again recently. I hate ticks!

Deer ticks carry lymes disease, and even then you have a small chance of getting it. I understand the urgency, but you’ll know pretty quickly if you have it, and there’s not much you can do in terms of preventing it.

I continue to look for a pic of a tick BITE, not a tick. EVERYONE is very eager to either draw, paste, or copy big cartoonish pictures of ticks, but nobody seems to be able to show a picture of the actual BITE, an hour or two hours after the bite happens.

It looks like a little pink bump that is slightly swollen. If its engorged and fell of on its own though you may not even know unless you got lyme which presents in a rash with a ring. Also ticks stat attached and feed for days so there is no bite mark “two hours later” because it will still be embedded in the skin.

I must've been lucky then because I went over to Sweden to see my family and whem I got there i went through the woods with my sister and when we got back i realised I had a tick on my leg so I panicked and pulled it off with my fingers. That was 6 years ago and I havent had a itchy lump on my leg

You should be fine, take some otc to help with swelling and possible symptoms. If it worsens goto the doc immediately

What if you have a small ring or small size bullseye after a tick bite but no fever or any flu like symptoms? My brother is fine after 3 months with no sickness or rash, but he said he had a small bullseye back when he got bit. He never got it checked. Is it possible he’s fine with no Lyme?

i seriously do not care how old this is i just hope you see this. people like you who think like this are the reason for some of the biggest problems in our society, someones name or nationality should NEVER be a problem. This doctor is qualified and frankly doing a great job where she can educate as well as save peoples lives. You need to educate yourself THOROUGHLY in this matter. Just because somebody is successful and different to you does not mean they are not 'normal' this woman is a human being! Seriously hope you lose your business.
