I totally agree with you. This yawn does not work. It’s easier to just use your own different colors and weave in the ends then try to figure this nonsense out.

I purchased this yarn but knit hats with it. The stripes work up cool. 🤷‍♀️ Not perfect but it's still pretty.

This was a great experiment. It makes me want to unravel the squares that you did and cut the colours apart to see how they matched up to the ones you just cut up. Thank you for taking the time to dig deeper into the concept of this yarn. Ross, the SmellGreatGuy made one of his Ross hats with it and it was so beautiful. Charolette, I have no intention of purchasing this yarn. 1st I think it’s to expensive and 2nd way to much frustration trying to get each round correct and not working then frogging and trying to rework again. Every single video I watched was frustrating. Just buy your yarn colors and make your granny squares the way you want ( like Charolette’s previous video- my fav) and there will be no frustration, no frogging, no trying again and again and again. I said my peace!!! Side note I was excited when it 1st came out but after the videos I said “no way”. Thanks❤gayle

I’ve always used red heart and loved it. However, I have never used the multicolored red heart only solid colors. This was very interesting to me because now I know to never buy multicolored yarn. Thank you.

I just ordered three skeins of this yarn. I found on yarninspirations website they have a video on how to work this yarn. Their recommendation is to play with tension until you find what works, or you can change the needle size. But in seeing how varied the color lengths are, this would not work either as a simple solution. It would not be consistent from square to square. That's really disheartening!! I was hoping to not need to splice and dice the yarn to make it come out right. 😔 Oh well, perhaps I'll find another use for this yarn in case it fails for me. I'm not one for a lot of fussing over it.

I do not like the yarn either. I would think a 1/2 inch off anywhere would make a difference. Thx for your experiment I wondered the same thing. I had never made grannie squares so was so excited then so disappointed.

I just measured each color and made a chart so I knew how much tension I needed for each color or if I needed to change hook sizes:)

I'm not being funny but if you seriously think its all going to be bang on exact i really think you're expecting way too much. On the whole it was pretty good. Personally i dont think any of those gimmick ones are much good if you're wanting to make matching things - as you said its far easier to just change colours and they really shouldn't be putting patterns on the band that don't go with the yarn . We don't get Red Heart in the UK as far as i know - ive never been able to find it so i don't know what its like. Love the hat and how about something like a 10 stitch blanket with it?

I dislike granny stitch. I love some colors of this yarn and it works up great with any stitch in any project if used as yarn instead of the gimmick. To each his own!

I really think it is a gimmick to the hi this is Mona 67 fixing to be 68 next month it's really a gimmick but you know what if you you could do it one more other way and it wouldn't be too frustrating if people don't mind cutting clipping and restarting the color when you get ready for the next round and then you know I don't mind weaving in things and some people just you know crochet right over there so what's the big deal you just go on the big what I would like about that is its color coordinated so I don't have to worry about matching up colors if I got the colors I want for the square I want you know just you know do what you can do with each row and find out how much you're going to have to clip and sew it still might not work but it's worth a shot at it and you know hey if you really can't do it that way then just crochet itmuch of this or that it might look really I say if you want it just get it from the fact that they've got the colors on there that you might want in a square that's going to fall in line eventually don't get stressed out don't get OCD about it and just just have fun for that's what it's for anyway God bless you and I'm praying for you and yours it's good to see and good to hear you God bless you 🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏✅💚

It's not you! I knew the minute I saw this yarn that it was just a gimmick. And I don't like the color combinations at all.
