I have made the little round, puffy scrubbies from this yarn and they are great. When I made the dishcloth, I combined two strands, one of cotton dishcloth yarn and one of the scrubby yarn. That works great for a regular dishcloth. I liked mine so much that I made several sets in different colors as small stocking stuffers and everyone seems to love them.

I made a dishcloth from a pattern that makes it a cotton dishcloth on one side and a scrubby cloth on the other. You crochet alternating rows in front or back loops so all the open loops are all on the same side then you sc the scrubby yarn in each of the open loops along the rows going back and forth like you did the original cloth. It makes an amazing cloth that's perfect for scrubbing dishes and cleaning countertops where you need a little extra for the odd drop that someone left to dry on. And it won't scratch surfaces.

I LOVE the scrubby yarn, I combine it with 100% cotton, I do 3 rounds for the eye make-up remover, 4 rounds for the face scrubby and 5 rounds for the bath scrubby, I make them double, one side has both yarns and one side only the cotton, then with wrong sides together(one of each) I crochet them together with and sc or a reverse sc. When I use the heavy #6 cotton then I make them single. I have crochet up over 100 balls already, these make lovely gifts, I get many compliments, they are also great for craft sales, easy to sell. Thank you, Jayda, for showing me how 'easy' it is to crochet one of these. I've been making a lot of dish cloths...started out knitting them then switched to crochet, which I've been doing ever since because it's so much easier and faster to complete one (although it does take twice the amount of yarn :-\). I've also knitted several of the scrubbies because I found it too difficult to crochet them with all of the 'hairiness' of that yarn. However, after watching you crochet one, I will try again because I'm way behind on them. I'm paring two cotton dish rags and one scrubby to give as gifts and, hopefully, to start selling. Gotta somehow pay for all this yarn!!! :-O :-D Thanks again. Blessings...

Thus far, I've found RH Scrubby (and Yarn Bee Scrubology, a "clone" from Hobby Lobby) much easier to crochet with if I hold it double with a strand of regular "kitchen cotton" yarn. For a scrubby yarn used by itself, I prefer Mary Maxim Scrub-It, which is a cotton tape yarn with a scrubby edge. I currently have my RH Scrubby/Yarn Bee Scrubology stash bagged up to sell on eBay -- but I'll wait until I've finished watching your review to decide if I should reconsider that decision.

Hey Jayda, I love cotton & even though I deal sensitive skin , hands I love scrubby! I have to mention I've not used the cotton scrubby, I love the shine & workability in the kitchen & elsewhere of the reg scrubby. I have a design that gets into things , I dunno, I think it works harder because it's not on dimensional.. if that makes sense!LOL I actually popped in to say once you practiced with the looser st's you can do reg ones and you'll recognize where the ST's are as well as you'll feel them. ( I don't need that light touch with it..again even with sensitive issues beyond the norm! asin hooks cause pain against skin ya, I'm an odd duck lol. I feel personally it's a new texture & it takes getting used to it. Less of a grasp in your yarn holding , non working hand and then it glides quick n easy. LOL just how it works / I work with it. Try patterning it with reg cotton J, It looks great and you get the W. Horse at the same time. Ahh , Like everything else there are endless Ideas n uses. This lil yella scrubby might be like one of your lil crochet characters and begin dancing about in your dreams bringing you a whole new series of tutes, vids while you explore those dreams ..a bouncy fun explosion of scrubbiessss .. HAVE FUN! lol (u prob already are he hee)

Hi Toby! I've been eyeing the sugar n cream yarn on line since we can't find it locally!

I use one strand red heart scrubby and one strand of regular red heart cotton and I crochet them together

I FOUND IT EASIER TO KNIT WITH THIS YARN. THAT WAY THE STITCHES ARE MORE VISABLE.

I was wondering if you've ever crochet a scrubby out of tulle? I've seen videos on it but I'm very skeptical as to how well it would work as a dish scrubby. And also how well it would hold up.
@JaydaInStitches5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jessica! I'm not even sure I've seen tulle for sale, except in large bolts at the fabric store, is that what they're using? It's plastic, so it might scrub!

@@JaydaInStitches The videos I have seen they use a 6 inch X 25 - 31 yard spool. I know here I can get it at Wal-Mart, both in store and on line. But, Yes it is the same stuff as in the fabric stores just smaller amounts. :)
