This album is pretty much more experimental than the last one. A lot of hits in unlimited love, especially radio friendly ones, but this new album is what i think a lot of chili peppers’ fans where expecting in terms of bringing different references, including john’s solo career, and prospecting the directions the band may take from now on compared to what was left over when john left. Hope to see the band experimenting and freely composing even more, towards expanding their boundaries and affecting more people.

The best thing about Chili Peppers is they never do the same thing but they never don’t sound like themselves. I might come under fire for this but that’s why I liked Klinghoffer stuff too- it’s not the RHCP I grew up on but that’s the point. I like how much they surprise and engage. They always have.
