Well the first time he left the band he was overwhelmed by the fame and couldn't handle it while being a drug addict and the second time was actually only considered because Flea wanted a two year break after touring in 2006/2007. + John has really made some good solo music, and he is happy now experimenting so I actually don't blame him, even though he was one of the biggest reasons to why Chili Peppers was such an amazing band.
