I was a drummer first but I got obsessed w the chilis when they had their first " comeback" I was just super into all types of music and was jamming w some friends at open stages All my peers are into jam and stuff I dig it but musically isn't what my soul searches for I have a lost and doomed gypsy soul riddled with duality and I find what satisfies my soul in the chili peppers I obviously love Chad as a drummer I can emulate his style pretty well But flea and mainly John ,are the soul of the peppers sounds They are conduits for the spirits to sing I got into johns solo shit around 2000 and started noodling on a small kids guitar Once I learned to bar chords and got hip on minor chords it totally enthralled me I was studying music. not listening recreationally to it . I learned to finger pick and strum chords to johns easier songs at first Then I started getting better and stronger I smoked hella pot and kinda transcendentally meditated while I was in that point of my life it went on for about 5 years I' left home went out west backpacking and learned to produce electronic music from my ipadi have a bincha music on my KZbin channel blah Never in my life other then Zeppelin has a band cast such a spell on me and I owe my ability to play the guitar to John and flea I love hearing from other musicians who can relate I know there's many of us We are all united by our free creative spirits and I wish you all a safe and wonderous journey through this life Cheers

Kiedis is unique but he’s off key a lot, Chad is a great drummer but he’s nothing legendary, flea is innovative and high energy I’ll give you that. So I wouldn’t say they are the most talented guys. Frusciante on the other hand is on another level and one for sure one of the greats. So I’d say you’re 25% correct
@SelectCircle
@SelectCircle 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikecantreed If I were starting a band and I could have only one of these guys - it's Chad. My band would be jazzy / bluesy - and so I want a drummer who knows how to play behind the beat - which is a lost art. Not even Meg White could revive it. Most drummers are on it. Punk drummers ahead. Takes quite an artistic sensibility to fall behind it. That's beautiful drumming. And Chad can get WAY behind. His lateness is gut-wrenching.

I was there for this show up close, and their performance exceeded my high expectations by a lot. I would encourage any fan to see them in person this year if at all possible. These videos convey very little of what the show sounded like and felt like in person. And who knows how long they will be together, and/or playing at this level. Guys, we are so fortunate to be witnessing this renaissance. Their collective sound was transcendent. This show changed me. It made my love for them and for playing the drums and for music grow to an even deeper, more beautiful level. I have been a big fan since 2013, and have listened to countless hours all along their many phases. This version of themselves rivals any other time putting everything into consideration. John has undoubtedly been the catalyst, as he has elevated all of them. Chad has improved so much from the last time John was with them. Anthony is energized and much improved. And Flea is still awesome. But their collective sound is something that has to be experienced in person.

As a longtime fan who followed the Peppers since the mid-80s, I rememeber when John joined the band and then the release of Mother's Milk. He has always been someone I have adored from day one, and I am beyond thrilled to have him back for a third time. Can't wait to see the boys on tour this summer! And ditto to what a previous subscriber said about all the focus on John during this performance. It's much appreciated for those of us who are absolutely mesmerized by him.
