CYE ep. 34: Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Heavy Wing | Cover
I realized I don't have a cover from the Unlimited Love album yet, so here it is. Just like you, as a John Frusciante fan, this is one of my instant favorite from the album.
In this cover, I used the EHX Nano Big Muff for the chorus sections (Sorry, I couldn't tame it). For the verses, you're hearing the Uni-vibe mode of the NUX Mod Core. For the lick before the guitar solo, I used a ring mod, the Aural Dream Super Ring. For the intro and pre-chorus, I shaped the tone with EHX Soul Food. My Orange CR60c is on it's usual dirty channel with the knob on 4.
I didn't have feedback because I was using headphones, so I tapped that single sustained note in the guitar solo that is supposed to mimic a feedback, but it died when I grabbed the tremolo bar with my left hand. It didn't sound bad to me, so I kept it.
