John transcends the different styles and eras of guitar playing. He could have been a legend during Hendrix years, could have done something in the 80s like Knopler and of course the 90s and still expanding all the sounds of his works two decades in 2000s. Would have been an icon on the original Woodstock stage too. 🌟

I'm really looking forward to live improvs like this next year. John's come a long way when it comes to electronic rhythms and the way melodies work in electronic music. He was really only just getting started here and more experimenting on stage than anything. Will be really interesting what he comes up with now, having created electronic music since leaving the band. He's got a better sense of rhythm and pacing now when it comes to that type of music. I feel as though he really came into his own as an electronic musician with Maya, there was a lot going on in comparison to his previous electronic suff and i'm thinking this will translate well to the guitar, Maya earned him the title of electronic producer for me, i took that album seriously. I'm hoping to hear not a rock guitarist experimenting with electronic sounds (which is what this sounds like to me), but an electronic artist trying out techniques on a guitar as opposed to a synth. Don't get me wrong, i love the guitar solos but when it comes to improv like this, possibilities are endless. John's new knowledge of electronic production will definitely open a new door to improv fo the band, especially for Chad.

@Alex-ms1tt
@Alex-ms1tt 2 жыл бұрын
@@user-xj8kd5lw4c i also believe Chad with get more creative cause these electronic synth type sounds have different accents in different points of the measures and will make him accent differently and get creative with it, really excited to what could happen!! Also John said he and Chad had a new communication in the creative process, john said he is also a drummer in his own way pulling from electronic music with programmed drums and stuff (before he didn't know the difference between a ride or a crash cymbal) so I think he and Chad worked harder on the drum beats for the new album making them more intricate and or busy as oppose to the classic funk rock grooves Chad has played in the past. I would really love to hear that new material and see Chad in a new vibe and switching things up!!
@alexwells6876
@alexwells6876 2 жыл бұрын
@@user-xj8kd5lw4c I'll also add that drums take a front seat in electronic music so for John to be influenced by that stuff i think Chad will as well, maybe even in some of the studio tracks on the album. But i definitely see it during live improv performances because they can go wild then. The album tracks will still be rock centric i'm guessing, but hopefully we'll hear some of the influences there as well, probably just not as obvious.

@@Alex-ms1tt Thank you so much for such a comprehensive answer. It makes me think about the recording of the new RHCP album from a completely different point of view.
