Alan Thicke's greatest contribution to music is putting these guys on national TV. It is textbook level irony.

In 1985 I called an Orlando, FL radio station and told them to play the Chili Peppers. The DJ said ... and this is a quote ... "this radio station will NEVER play (mockingly) The Red Hot Chili Peppers." I quit listening to the radio at that point.

I’d love to take the Delorean back to 1984. Casually mention to Alan Thicke “yeah you know those crazy guys you had on? They’re going to be one of the most successful bands of all time. Sell 120+ million albums. Join the rock hall in 2012. Sell their back catalogue for 140 million. Still be making music 36 years later” I suspect he’d be surprised…….

Nikola Baric Yeah if you read his autobiography this was around the time when he spent most of his hard-earned cash on drugs gallore lol, getting involved with the wrong crowd, and nearly getting killed in the process by these thugs he wanted to buy the drugs off of.

At the time Hillel alongside original drummer Jack Irons were in a side group called What is This? who were signed to a contract when the Chilis were signed to EMI so Hillel along with Jack left the Chilis before their first album was made but Hillel returned before Freaky Styley in '85 and Jack returned before Uplift Mofo Party Plan the only album with all 4 founding members on it.
