Red Letter Media Animated - The Dependables

Hello friends! This was the original proof of concept thing we made when we were testing out the idea of doing our animated series, Spitballs. As explained in our intro, this is a really old idea Rich Evans and Mike would bounce back and forth going back 20+ years or more. We decided it would make for a good pilot episode. Obviously Mike is fond of the elderly, but what if the fate of the Earth was in the hands of the last dozen or so nonagenarians around. Enjoy this silly, unreleased video with artwork by Freddie Williams and the legend himself, Rich Evans! Mike did the editing and sound effects. Jay did essentially nothing cause he's scum.

I was laughing at how ridiculous the premise was for the movie... Until I started thinking about it. With the right tone, it's a neat concept for a movie/episode of something. Could totally see a Futurama episode where slow-mo aliens try to invade Earth/"our" universe by trying to Bug-Bomb it, not realizing the difference in the speed of time passage. Most of the episode is everyone trying to figure out what's going on until the aliens eventually show up and get wrecked by the fast-moving Earthlings-- could even be a twist ending (like the short story of the invasion fleet traveling to Earth over great time and distance only to be eaten by a small dog in Hitchhiker's Guide).
