They have SO many huge Korean celebs this season. Thanos (purple hair) is T.O.P. from BIGBANG. The pregnant girl is Yuri from Izone (the same group Chaewon and Sakura from Le Sserafim and Wonyoung and Yu-Jin from IVE were in). The have another male kpop star Siwan from ZE:A. The trans character was the colorblind dude from The Glory. Park Gyu-yeong was in Celebrity. Even one of the thugs who had to play the game was in Kingdom. I'm not even mentioning some of the biggest ones. They really did their big one with this cast and season so I'm shocked by some of the poor reviews of this season as someone who has consumed K-content since 2008. It's so good so far!

I think you just don't like character development and actual storylines. Just games and action and deaths. A real story has to have alot more then that, and S2 delivers. And, there's S3 coming to end the rest of the story.
