This was just incredible. I hope that the developers make a another sequel - - I really would like to know what Sasha became. Maybe the Red Matter did successfully revive him and the neural simulator in the first game probably made his mind stronger. Who knows? But these 2 games were both very interesting.

I can see that the combat may have felt repetitive to play, but there was something about it that was just really satisfying to watch. With Sasha not being a trained soldier, and needing to move cover to cover, it had a kind of old school sci-fi adventure vibe to it, rather than just feeling like 'a guy playing a game'. It was surprisingly suspenseful! I loved watching this series. I hope they do a third.

SPOILER WARNING: The eyeballs, brains, etc. in the cabinet at 28:50 when scanned say that they belong to Ivan - the guy who was suspicious about Irina's submission to the red matter testing program - so he really did get "loyalty tested" in the end.

1:45; That is an actual product you could buy in the Soviet Union. It was a jar that was made to resemble a rocket in commemoration of Korabl-Sputnik 2, a Soviet space mission in 1960 which was the first to bring living beings to orbit and return them safely, those beings being two dogs named Belka and Strelka, who are the two dogs depicted on the side of the jar. As you may already know, these dogs were not the first living beings sent to orbit, the first being a dog named Laika (note, Laika was not the first animal in space, just the first to be sent to orbit, the first animals in space (on a suborbital trajectory) were fruit flies sent by Americans, the first mammal was a monkey named Albert, again sent by Americans, who died due to a parachute failure, and the first animals to be sent and to return alive were Soviet dogs Dezik and Tsygan). However Laika was never meant to return home. They didn't have the capacity to return a spacecraft from orbit yet so they packed enough food for a week. The food would be dispensed over the course of a week and the final meal would be poisoned to euthanize Laika on orbit (not the last time a plan for euthanization was included in a Soviet space mission, for the first Soviet spacewalk on Voskhod 2, if cosmonaut Alexei Leonov was unable to return to the spacecraft (which nearly happened, as the pressurised spacesuit began expanding in the vacuum to the point where he couldn't get through the airlock, but Alexei Leonov lowered the suit pressure to get back inside), a suicide pill was included in the helmet in case Alexei Leanov decided he preferred to go out on his own terms instead of slow asphyxiation). That didn't happen however, the capsule began overheating. This was because when they built the temperature control system, they didn't factor in the fact that the booster rocket would still be attached to the spacecraft (they opted to do this so the boosters batteries would be able to supply power and communications), and because of the added surface area of the booster heating up under the suns rays, the combined booster and spacecraft heated up faster than the temperature regulation could cool it down, overheating Laika's capsule and killing her (all the dogs the Soviet Union sent to space where female as it made waste collection easier) somewhere between the third and fourth orbit. Soviet scientists very much regretted sending Laika up to die. There was quite a bit of attachment between the scientists and the dogs. You may get the impression that they just strapped dogs into rockets and blasted them into space with little regard for the dogs, but that is not true. The dogs were trained so as to not panic on the spacecraft, through gradually increased exposure to closed spaces, high g forces and vibrations, they elected to catch stray dogs off the streets of the Soviet Union as they thought they would be tougher than house dogs and thus be more able to tolerate the stresses of spaceflight. During the program some of the dogs were adopted by the scientists who didn't want the dogs to be on any more space missions. There was one incident were a spacecraft failed to make orbit and landed somewhere 3,500 kilometers away from the launch site, and it's self destruction sequence was activated (yes, spacecraft self destruction sequences are, or rather were, a real thing, used to protect the confidentiality of the technology in case the spacecraft landed in enemy territory), leaving the recovery crew 60 hours to rescue the dogs before the spacecraft blew up. They rescued the dogs and one of them was adopted by one of the scientists after the incident. All I could find points the the fact that the scientists really cared about the dogs, and the Soviet dogs had a higher survival rate than the American monkeys, to the point where several of the dogs flew several times, while none of the American monkeys did. Several of the Soviet space dogs went on to have puppies, and one of Strelka's (one of the dogs depicted on the jar) puppies (Pushinka) was sent as a goodwill present to the First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy. President Kennedy's advisors initially told them they couldn't keep her, as they feared the dog might have been implanted with bugs to listen in on conversations (the US had tried this with cats, so it was possible), but eventually relented and let them keep her. I love this story for two reasons; one, if the advisors had gotten their way, think about what would have happened to Pushinka. They wouldn't have found someone else in the White House to keep her if they thought she was bugged, and they wouldn't have refused a goodwill gift and sent her back to the Soviet Union. In all likely hood they would have sent her to the pound, meaning the United States of America nearly executed a puppy on suspicion of being a Soviet spy. The second is that Pushinka had puppies with a Kennedy dog named Charlie, and the Wikipedia article for Belka and Strelka words that sentence as such "A Cold War romance bloomed between Pushinka and a Kennedy dog named Charlie".

Judging by the first and second game, Sasha has bonded with the red matter. I say bonded rather than assimilated as Sasha still seems to be himself. Judging by the blob persons we see others seem to bonded with the red matter as well, but whether it is a greater or lesser extent can't be said for certain as they seem to have a conscious. Because Volgravia has at least partially the data needed to open a portal to the red matter not to mention the plot talking about a second station, or how we haven't gotten any come-uppance with Nikolai; I strongly believe that they could make a sequel. The only problem would be giving Sasha's consciousness a body.

The ending is self explanatory neural transfer created two sasha the the one from the first game and this game So this means the the first sasha the has succumbed to the red matter a long time but second sasha is a special case you see he isn't like the others in the report says the people that infected to red matter get violent tenancies or loses some sanity as you see in the the head scientist that drawn all this circles Non of these presented in the second Sasha you can say this sash is not infected is more the first sasha connecting the second Sasha sub-consciously meaning that the two are connected like in the first game that sasha was in the simulation inside in his own head and the mysterious astronaut was actually you, your subconscious telling you the truth and guiding you. remember the begining of the game when red flare every time you go into a airlock? I think that was the first sasha connecting to the second sasha, it could've been mistaken as infection and he has a Astronaut suit so infection is a mis, would it infection more in prolonged exposure? hence when you think about it why sasha wasn't so afraid when he encounter the orb? That wasn't normal reaction, normally fear would've taken hold at that moment in hysteria, i would have freaking out if i was hallucinating something that isn't real

**** POTENTIAL SPOILERS **** Firstly I did think Sasha had been played by the Atlantic Alliance and would only be in control of the body until they'd transmitted all the data back to Alliance Command. But why did Lysenko seem to go full mad scientist and infect all of his staff? Did he just go crazy, or had he some insight into the nature of the Red Matter and it's effect on humans? There's also the mystery on what was happening at Strelka N2, that some of the infected prisoners were transferred to. So enough room for a third game in the series if RM2 is successful enough.
@cosmicjenny45082 жыл бұрын
He didn’t intentionally infect all of his staff, it was just that everyone who worked on those experiments with the red matter got infected. He knew it first which is why he sealed himself into his quarters after throwing the crew a party.
