I realize now that the main reason I did not see the twist coming as early as I should have (the beginning of the movie) because of the various things they did that were stupid for people working together but made perfect sense for her trying to frame him. And a lot of hints came off as classic sarcasm from The Rock.

The only thing I could really say about this movie is that Ryan Reynolds seems to have made it his life's ambition to make a movie where his dialogue is 100% quips. As for Gal Gadot's "thing", I think it might actually be The Louvre. This is like the third or fourth movie she's been shown in relation to it.

My go-to tactic if I'm not sure about a name pronunciation is to look for a guest appearance on Kimmel or Fallon or another talk show; the promotional people booking the shows want to make sure everything is correct and the hosts don't want to sound like idiots so they usually do their homework on the names.

It’s not dot. It’s Dote. At least based on the Hebrew of her name. Which I can read. גל גדות Read from right to left. The first word is gimmel and then lamed. The vowels are excluded in this version, they are normally represented as small marking under the letters. Anyway, Gimmel makes a G sound, and Lamed an L sound. So that’s Gal. The next word is Gimmel-daled-vov-taf Daled is a D sound. Vov is tricky as depending on the placement of a dot it can be either an Oh or a Ve. In this case it’s an Oh. Next is Taf, which makes a sort of soft T sound. So now that I’m looking at this, I’d argue that for English speakers either Godoh or Godote would be correct ways to pronounce it.

Umm, as a Hebrew speaker, the name sounds like this: Ga as in gum (exactly the same as Gal) and dot as in dot. It means banks (as in bank of the river/sea).

@@TheArbiterOfTruth It's not an uncommon family name in israel. I had a friend in elementary school who is also Gadot. Since Hebrew has a different alphabet you would never use silent letters when writing the words in Latin. You would always write it to sound as close as you can. The exceptions are some vowels which are harder to transfer (we would mostly use 'a' in sounds closer to 'cut' then 'cat' and 'u' for sounds like 'put' or 'foot').
