The snow in a can creates "falling snow" and it's very different from the window snow. The one I used created flakes of foam that melt away after a few minutes :-)

Gavin, you're living in the UK, right? I live in Austria and I also think about getting this Streak Lights. How much did it cost you to ship it from the USA to the UK respectively how much will it cost to ship it to Austria? What about the custom taxes resp. the import fees?
@721MrG
@721MrG 10 жыл бұрын
It will cost you additional $113.35 for shipping to Austria (AT) via UPS Worldwide Express I hope this link will work, basically you add to cart item then proceed to checkout and then add destination to recalculate price. www.adorama.com/Als.Mvc/CartView Can't help much about custom taxes though.
@GavinHoey
@GavinHoey 10 жыл бұрын
Being in the UK pretty much anything I buy in from outside the EU is subject VAT (tax) and import duty. I'm sure the rules are a little different in Austria but there's bound to be local taxes and a search on Google may help you to work out how much.

Imaging lens and the small space made you approaching the model, and use bigger imaging angle, a wider, resulting in deformation of the face, the best lens is a long focal length of 70-200 do not result in deformation .

It's just an old boom arm and a couple of clamps, low tech but it works. You can buy purpose made reflector holders to the job too.

ISO 50? How did you pull that off?
@GavinHoey
@GavinHoey 10 жыл бұрын
It's a setting in some Canon (and possibly other) cameras. On my 5D2 it's called ISO expansion with gives extra high and low ISO choices.
@PhillipsTravels

I picked up the 50mm f1.8 lens and was quite disappointed at its results. I didn't realize before buying it how small the front element is, which causes it to really not let in very much light. So, despite being able to go as wide as 1.8 it still doesn't perform very well in low light. Looking at the 50mm f1.4, that one has a big front element and would probably do much better in low light, although it costs a lot more. Also, the 50 f1.8 gave me very poor quality for the sharpness of the pictures and never seemed to be able to hit the focus I was aiming for.
@GavinHoey
@GavinHoey 10 жыл бұрын
Don't judge a lens by it's front element alone, it's the f/1.8 bit that's important in low light / for shallow depth of field. A quick way to see what I mean is to take the front & rear lens caps off and look through the lens. The bigger the hole, the more light the lens lets through. The Canon 50mm f/1.8 isn't the fastest focusing lens in any light and it may be that you had a duff lens but there's plenty of other, more likely, factors which can give poor sharpness.

indy denys That 1.4 has a huge front element and so would gather a lot more light. I'm considering switching to a 50mm f/1.4 but I'm putting it off because I'm working towards a 24-70 f/2.8 at the moment.
