In a 130 x 55 x 55 tank, do you advise for 3 ReefLED90's or 2 ReefLED's 160s for sps? The tank will nu be full of sps, but I want two islands right underneath the lamps.

It's better to get 3 RL90s. The light distribution would be better with less spill. (for the width and height)

You can use that for SPS dominant tank or even a RL90 Depends on how deep the tanks is. Both the 90 and 160S are good options depending on your goals.

Too much of a good thing isn't good ;). RL90 is ideal for your tank even for the most demanding SPS. With the 160S you will have a lot of light spilling out of the sides and front.

@redsea how many lights will I need if I mounted them 14" above aquarium I currently have 4 red sea 90 would it be better to buy 4 or 6 more Red sea 90 and have to raws or buy red 160 and have less units ? I want to grow SPS on the bottom of my tank dimensions are 230cm length 86cm width 77cm hight many thanks in advance hight

The RL160S are designed for your depth (SPS compatible up to 80cm depth). The RL90 will give you a good solution for a lot of corals, but SPS compatible up to 60cm depth. 3-4 RL160S should give you the optimal cover based on your aquascape. I have an innovative marine nuvo 50 internal tan kit is about 29” long and about 20” wide and about 16” deep, which light would be best for this tank, eventually I’m just going to mainly have soft corals possibly a BTA and a few lps, will not have any sps

The LED's have acclimation, you don't need to fiddle with creating a spectrum yourself, we created the perfect blend of spectrum the corals utilize so it's a "set and forget" product in that sense.

I have a question A lot of LED lights and bulk reef supply say that the WIDER blue spectrum is needed for best coral growth and colour. The fixtures you have tend to have a narrower peak. What im asking is based on your research is the wider blue spectrum needed or is the spectrum you have set the BEST from your research

Gordon Gekko isnt UV around 400-420 nm? 440-460 is usually around roual blue/ blue

We have over 30 years of coral growth research and we looked into every aspect of the animal's life. The spectrum we are using in the Reef Spec blue is ideal for what the coras-zoox complex (it's not "just zoox" alone or just coral alone) needs for optimal growth and wellbeing. Since energy doesn't get lost everything outside that PUR range will turn into heat and a damage potential.

Hi guys... am I right in saying there is 3 inches of reach difference between the three sizes of the reef led 90 mounting arms ... my tanknis 25 inches from front to back so not sure if the 2nd largest or the 3rd biggest mount would be better and sit well over the top of my tank

Your tank would be fine with either of the arms, as it's right in the middle. The medium size arm or the large size would place the LED a bit off to the back or front, not something detrimental. However there's a 3rd option- the adjustable ReefLED 90 Universal arm. ;)

Just got x2 Red 90’s for my XL425... Wondering if I should’ve have waited... Are these new lights pretty much the “same as the 90’s” in regard to the way the colors look etc?? I know they are a whole lot more powerful for sure...but are they just a more powerful Led 90’ as far as colors and brighter etc? Or a whole different looking light entirely
