I’m fascinated about RHP Brody Brecht 70 grade fastball that reached 103, 70 grade slider, and a splitter which I think Breslow would look for, and it could be under slot value too

High school kids are super high risk. The 2 players I’ve seen either recently or linked a lot is Trey Seavage and Christian Moore. Both would be great. Seavage has a shot to make it this late and would be amazing. Also pitching in a tough conference like the ACC is like starting between high A and AA. Christian Moore is a high high power 2nd basemen. He’d also be great.

After a great deal more research I have had an addition to my list on this one. Although he is prep school and another shortstop but one who can play all around the diamond including 96 mph off the pitching rubber, if Conner Griffin is still on the board at the 12th pick I would have a very hard time saying no to that. Very multi-tooled and by far the best high school player in the country. 6 ft 4 inches and a very gifted athlete. I am all over this one. Last but far from least I saw an interview with him. In the world we live in today I say character counts for a lot. That was one of the most impressive things about him. Humble , polite and confident in his abilities. A player we would be honored to have on the sox. Another great young player would be Cam Cammaniti. A great young pitcher that is also a darn good hitter. Good athlete. Joe

Decided to do some research on Seaver King. Very very elite athlete with very gifted defensive abilities. Ability to play different positions as you mentioned Corbin. Has good ball contact skills. He will need to work some on his pitch selection when it comes to hitting fastballs. But thats the sort of thing seasoning in the minor leagues is for. Runs very fast. This guy reminds me of Mookie Betts. Very quick bat speed. Good arm. If the sox decide to go in his direction I won't be too disappointed if they take this guy . He looks like a force of nature. I would like to see them grab a pitcher but after watching multiple videos of this guy I can see why he would be hotly pursued. Nice comeback victory vs the Big Red Machine today. :) Joe

The best part about the MLB draft is it’s so unpredictable. I’ve seen rumors some top ten teams may go the cheaper route and pass on college guys. That said the Sox are in a great spot to just snag a guy who falls. At least 1 or 2 teams before the Sox pick will make unexpected picks. If one of the three top college arms falls snag them up but most likely they won’t be available and at that point you just have to snag the best bat available. No need to reach for an arm

I think Close Call Sports encountered a similar issue with MLB but they were able to sort it out quite fast. You can try and reach out to them and see what they did. For the draft, yeah ideally the Sox should draft a pitcher. But prior experiences in drafting pitchers in the 1st round: from Casey Kelly, Trey Ball, to Jay Groome, really shows how difficult it is to hit the jackpot.

I'm thinking pitching is the route Breslow goes, but I'm guessing it may be a Senior from college that would be a below slot signing to enable the Sox to draft someone they would need to pay over slot.....another great video

Braden Montgomery is the pick, high upside hitter with 5 tools. Especially with chance he slides a bit post injury. Also hard to pass up on any of the HS bats. Craig has track record in Chicago of finding pitching in later rounds

It's almost impossible to predict who they will pick it seems like picking the best player available. It always takes a while for players to develop so it's like having a lottery ticket. Hopefully they get someone to help in many years to come. Enjoyed your video as usual 👍

Nice job, Corbin. I would suggest that pitching is the priority for two reasons. First, the current state of the minors with few player pitching options available at AAA. Second, the current pitching staff has depleted the minors in terms of starters. I'll add a 3rd, It's Theo and Breslow in charge of the draft.

Sure in the draft as a whole I agree but taking the best overall talent in the 12th spot is a safer bet even if it does end up being a pitcher

Great video Corbin. I see you like my pick of Trey Yesavage! Yeah, I get it. Its kinda tough to make this call. I hope that Yesavage is still there when the sox pick at 12 to at least give them the option to grab him. Another possibility is a young lefty Cam Caminiti . A very good young pitcher and talented hitter. Young but a player worth waiting for . Seaver King sounds pretty good too. He could probably move thru the minors quickly. Another speed demon for our sox that would drive the opposition crazy. Another mention would be Konnor Griffin. OF/3B/RHP/SS. He is called one of the most multi tooled players in the draft. He does possess a very powerful arm and truly is a very gifted athlete. He is a pretty fast runner as well. He is young at 18 years of age but in his case I think he projects well. I put him on my list as a player worth waiting for. I can see taking the best athlete available but I say take the best pitcher available. I don't like the risk pitchers present sometimes with future possible arm issues. I do hear that but if we always wait til later rounds to draft pitchers I think its possible we miss out on some of the more talented options. At any rate here's hoping for a successful draft for the sox no matter what direction they chose. Its going to be a fascinating draft. Thanks Corbin. Joe
@redseatradio
@redseatradio 2 ай бұрын
I think the only way they would truly miss out on those talents is if they purposefully go position over pitcher. If you take a pitcher in the first round just to say you took one that tends to not work out as well

Hiya Corbin. That's a pile of crap about the videos for sure. But recently, I've been using podcasts on Spotify just as much. I like the video if I'm at home in the evening but I prefer Spotify when I'm out. Regardless, I'm here for the content. I enjoy the videos but they're only the icing on the cake. I think Sox must chance it and go for a pitcher. The 12th pick is likely to be the highest they are are gonna have for several years, if everything goes to plan. And right now, the future looks bright. Take the risk. Do the homework. Take the best pitcher available. Even the one with the highest floor. Thanks again Corbin

Depending on when your turn comes up in the draft, is it always obvious who the best pick is? Given the dearth of pitching prospects in the Sox system, and that their #1 Perales is now out with TJ, I think that this is the year to switch up the approach and go with a college pitcher. If Yesavage is available, he sounds great.

I don't think that drafting a left-handed position is a good idea if he is the highest rated player available. An outfielder or second baseman as a position player are the best ideas. I think that your fear of pitcher is somewhat misplaced because it makes the RS dependent on outside sources.
