Dan, loved watching your channel on the Red Squirrels. It’s becoming my go to channel in the morning. You have captured their beauty in such a way that it shows their bulging eyes, their delicate movement, superb colours and the fineness of their tails. If it wasn’t for your videos I would never get the opportunity to see these squirrels in what is our own backyard (so to speak). Thank you.

Lovely video Dan, so great to see them doing well in the Lake District, my favourite site has now got the dreaded squirrel pox so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all the other sites. Great video! It's fantastic to see you back capturing these beautiful red squirrels. The shots are amazing as always! It's a shame about the impact of grey squirrels on the native population. The spread of squirrel pox is a real concern. Hopefully, conservation efforts can help protect these precious creatures. Thanks for sharing your passion for wildlife photography!

Another thoroughly enjoyable and informative video from you Dan. You looked really chilled out there lying on the ground 🙂 I don’t really like the word “cute” when describing wildlife but I think I could make an exception for Red Squirrels 🙂 …. and Hazel Dormice 🙂 Whilst you haven’t given the location for your Lake District shoot, which I do understand, you did put me on to the Dingle NR in Llangefni which I visited for the very first time this May during my annual trip to Wales (thank you again). Interestingly, most of the Red Squirrels that I have seen in northern Europe are much darker than UK animals and more grey/black than red. It is so sad and distressing to realise that squirrel pox is still having such a devasting impact on the already range-restricted Red Squirrel

Great spot. I spent three or four hours there whilst I was in the UK. At one stage we had five red squirrels around us. Some good points about the use of different metering modes. Hello Dan, There is a place in North Yorkshire I go the take images of the Red squirrels. I find them so fast and inquisitive. The little thing go running into my camera bag and all around. they are so much fun but very quick. If face I only user a 300mm PF lens to fill the frame and then they are so close you can not focus on them, (Well you can just take a time)

Thanks Sean, you are right if they have a diet of only peanuts it can lead to a calcium deficiency. However if the peanuts are part of a varied diet they are not bad for the squirrels and are actually used by the rangers in the Penrith area. Hazelnuts are always a preferred food source as it is more natural 👍🏻
