What a fantastic location - the soft light and the excellent post positioning / background made for some cracking shots there :) I love how red squirrels are so chill with people around in a hide - I've been photographing them in a different location once and had them actually coming into the hide to get nuts!

Hello Dan and Popps, I remember the fist time a was shooting Red Squirrels. They are so small and boy they are quick. They were running around my feet and diving into my camera bag. But just lovely. You captured so super images.

Red Squirrels and those lovely autumn colours? What’s not to like? Such a beautiful setting for hide photography at Neil’s set-up. Lovely photos/video from you and Pops of arguably the cutest UK mammal. It is sad to hear from you that the Red Squirrels have gone from Formby. I photographed them there many years ago. Well done Pops in having such an easy first Crestie. They can be so difficult to find, especially during the summer months when I have usually visited the Speyside forests. Fortunately, they are much easier in the winter when they come to garden bird feeders! Lovely berry-eating Mistle Thrush footage at the beginning of your video too. This is another great spot. I've been to a couple of hides in Aviemore, and the wildlife opportunities are magnificent. I'm pleased to see you are using hazelnuts. Nothing looks more unnatural than a Red Squirrel with a peanut. 👍
